Connecting flights at Pearson on way home - time needed?

Looking at possible flights. One has a 70 min time between connections. I'm thinking this is not going to be possible considering we would need to grab bags and clear customs before connecting flight?

Although if we miss connection would it be up to AC to get us on another one?

We've done it in an hour, but it was tight. Much depends on how busy the airport is when you arrive. If you have several international jumbo jets arriving at the same time, Customs can get really backed up. And this is assuming your flight isn't delayed.

As long as Air Canada allows you to make the booking, they have to get you home one way or another. But there's no guarantee that you'll get the next flight out if it's fully booked. I once had to wait 8 hours for a flight after missing a connection. 3 other flights went in the interim.

Thanks. I ended up booking one with 3 hrs between connections so should be good!
