I read a thread this morning about two DVC memberships for sale on Ebay, and I replied to it that I thought the ROFR would present a problem. I was just looking for the thread to see what other DVCers thought about it and I can't find the thread. Can anyone explain this to me?

ROFR would only present a problem for the potential buyer, not the seller. The seller on e-bay would get the sale price regardless of whether it was bought by an individual or scooped up by Disney under ROFR. It seems like the seller is just trying to expand the number of potntial buyers by using e-bay.

That was my thread and it was deleted for including a link to the auctions. I also don't think it will make it through ROFR like it is but the bid will probably increase.
I'm not sure if I can mention you can go to ebay and search for "disney vacation club" and you will find the auctions.

Thanks, Richie!!
I feel much better now. I thought I was hallucinating! ;)

Both should be fine. One lists the ROFR info and the other is likely priced high enough that it won't matter. Still, it would be better if there were at least a disclaimer. Since other resorts (Marriott, Embassy, etc) also have ROFR and I rarely see a disclaimer there either I don't think there's much room for the potential buyer to baulk. It's essentially a case of buyer beware.
