Hi

we’ve only done WoC pkg a couple times in the past and it’s been years. Normally, would do Fantasmic but it’s down during our trip sigh.

See that things have changed a bit, including we now are dealing with diabetes in our group. That equates to the dessert party really not being a viable option…unless they offer alternative snack options of some sort :confused3

Looks like our only other option (not being magic key holders, that is out, although it still has dining res available during our trip)

We’ve done Storytellers in the past for brunch and dinner, liked it. If we do book one of the earlier reservations, can I assume we’d definitely be able to upgrade to the WoC pkg or does it ever sell out?

I've done this before (and I just checked the Disneyland website to make sure the process is the same). If you dine at the Storytellers Cafe for dinner (not brunch) you are able to request the WoC dining package from your server.
I've never had an issue with the package selling out, but it could be a possibility.
If it's been a couple years since you've seen WoC, you'll like the new WoC-ONE show!

I think you can only get the WOC package at Storytellers for dinner not any of the earlier meals. At the Trattoria it is both lunch and dinner. I could be wrong. We are planning on a 5:00pm dinner slot so hopefully WOC availability won't be gone by then.

I just saw they have a dessert party for the OB parties too re the parade seating. Decisions lol

WOC dining packages for everyone (not just MK) are available at Wine Country Trattoria as well as Storytellers. At either location, you just need a regular reservation. When you are seated at Wine Country Trattoria, you will be offered a regular menu as well as a WOC menu. If you aren't offered a WOC menu, just ask for it from your server. @Porsche4 is correct. You can do WOC dining package at Wine Country Trattoria for either lunch or dinner.

The viewing area for the dining packages is standing only (note, small children might not be able to see). It is in the circular area where the red X is on the image below.

The dessert package does offer an option for those with dietary restrictions. It isn't the best for diabetics - basically cheese and fruit. This thread might be helpful. https://www.disboards.com/threads/world-of-color-dessert-package-for-diabetics.3945655 Dessert package dining is seated in the area where the teal line is in the image below.
