I am getting very confused (which is not hard) With tickets for our trip. We are going for 14days. Now do i Buy a disney 10 day world pass which iv found for £185 or the 5 day hopper plus for £ 169????? universal pass 4 days £103, 5 days £124. There is not alot of diffrence in the prices is it worth paying that extra. Thanks

 Hi Denise

I know it's very confusing for you as it was for all of us at some point. I take it you've never visited Orlando before? The first thing I'd buy is Simon Veness Brits Guide to Orlando and Walt Disney World (available from book stores and online) wich gives an unfailing helping hand for a first timer (and for the umpteenth timer he he:rolleyes: )

Don't panic!
You have plenty of time yet, I see you're going for 14 days. Do you really want to do a park every day? or are you intending going back again?

If the answer is yes to one or both of these then i'd opt for the 10 day World pass (only available to buy over here) and the 5 day Universal, but before you do please read your Brits Guide and read a lot of threads on these boards:).

Anything else you need to know we'll do our best to help
:)

Denise,

The advantage of the Parkhopper plus passes is that unused days never expire, so if you don't use them all during your trip, you can save them for next time. Personally, we find that 10 days is just too much Disney for us - but I'm sure many will disagree. We just like to do other things while we are there.

If you go on the Universal Studios website, there is a internet-only offer of a 5-day Bonus Pass for Universal for $89.95 plus tax. It does require you to use the 5 days consecutively, though.

My advice is to make a plan of what you want to do each day (adding in some rest time!) and then work out from that exactly what tickets you'll need.

We learnt the hard way - and spent far too much on tickets on our first trip.

I hope that helps. I'm sure you'll get plenty more useful advice, too.

Julie

If you have any possibility that you may return within 12 months, the Annual Pass will win every time - it's worth considering. ::MickeyMo

I'm not sure that US/IOA warrants 4 or 5 days. Granted that's a decent rate for the ticket and it allows you the option of using them as a full day in each and another half at each to cover anything you missed. I think the hopper plus tickets do offer better value as they give you the option to use the tickets at a later date if you find you get too tired/busy to use them up. I made the mistake of buying too many tickets that expired at the end of that trip, I'd guess I had a weeks worth of tickets when I left. I'd estimate I wasted £300-400 in this way on our first visit.

For Disney I would opt for a 5 day hopper plus , for Universal on their website it seems you can get a 5 day ticket for $99.95 ( a little more than Julie thought but still excellent value) , I doubt you'll use all 5 days, but as it's the same cost as a two days I can't see a down side. Here's a link to USF's website. https://tickets.universalstudios.com/USRG/us_store_secure2.jsp?merchant=UO . Seems a lot cheaper than the quotes you've had in £ . If you want to take a trip to Seaworld sometime you have the option to pay at the gate and save some of your Disney tickets if you think you'll come back.

Hi

I normally buy the Annual Pass for US & IOA, online, at the moment the cheaper of the two is $109.95 and the 5 consecutive days ticket is $99.95 they have both gone up by $10 in the last couple of days.

I travel to Orlando in October and there are no 'blackout dates' for the cheaper annual pass and find this works out best for our family. I buy 1 x the more expensive pass as this includes free parking etc.

When I buy the tickets I usually get 2 years from the one ticket. I go to US & IOA the 2nd week of my 1st holiday and the 1st week of my 2nd holiday - if that makes sense and then I get the full 365 days use although the days used are in Oct of one year and the Oct of the following year. I find this works out cost effective for us as the children really enjoy US and IOA and leaves more money for the all important shopping!

Hi! I just wanted to thank Julie for the link she gave to get the US ticket for $81.95. I sincerely appreciate it. I ordered the ticket with no problem. Total with tax and $2.00 fee for ceTicket pickup was $89.28. Thanks again!
