Hi everyone -

I saw that there is a 1/2 in Philly in Sept and another in 1/2 in Nov.

Is there a differance between either event??

The only differance that I see (looking quickly) is the cost.....$45 for the 1/2 in Sept (w/$10 coupon) and $65 for the 1/2 in Nov (no coupon code).

Is one run better than the other???

Sept had training in the Aug heat, while Nov provides better conditions to train in the fall.

HELP ;)

Ran them both last year......the September race is much better organized and enjoyable experience. check the other Philly marathon thread for the one in November.......I posted all the specifics there.....bad race, poorly run.

Beth - Thanks for your input ;) I like Sept and the price too. I live in SJ, so it is just a matter of an hour drive for me. So I do get to save $$ and not get a hotel (a wonderful thing).

My only concern is training in the summer. Right now my LR is only 4 miles, so I have a way to go.....................:goodvibes

The PDR is a better race, if you are comparing it to the 1/2 in Nov., but they both run essentially the same course. You are correct about the weather. The weather for the PDR was great last year but you run the risk of some hot temps anytime you run in September. You also get a big medal for running the PDR and for $45 its a good value.
