So we have the disney dinning plan, the one with an adr, quick service and snack every day. However I am confused about what the adr gives us. Do we get a main entree, drink, and a desert? Only a drink and a main entree? Also what if you go to a restaurant with like a pick three option...appetizer, main entree, and desert, does this work on the dinning plan? :confused3 I am really lost....

Appetizers aren't included. You get choice of entree, drink, and dessert. An appetizer would be paid OOP.

As far as I know, if the restaurant has a Prix Fixe, you can get that with your DDP credit and you will get the app that comes with it. There may be an additional charge, but the only place I've heard of them actually charging one is at Marrakesh.

At a table service restaurant for lunch and dinner you can order an entrée, dessert and non alcoholic fountain beverage. At breakfast it will be just an entrée and beverage (there is no dessert component).

The prix fixe menu (pick one item from each of 3 courses) is available at a few restaurants and is included in the dining plan, except at Flying Fish. Two of the places, Marrakesh and Monsieur Paul have an upcharge if you choose this option.

ADR stands for Advance Dining Reservation. Your dining plan includes 1 Table Service (TS) meal, 1 Counter Service (CS) meal and 1 Snack per person, per night of stay at your resort. To eat at most TS restaurants you need an ADR.

At a TS or CS meal you are allowed an entree or combo, drink and dessert.

Is the prix fixe menu like a pick three option?

Thanks everyone for the input, I am starting to feel better about things :)

Is the prix fixe menu like a pick three option?

I'm not familiar with the term "pick three option" relating to meals at DW, but at several restaurants (e.g Les Chefs) there's a prix fixe menu. You choose one appetizer, one entrée and one dessert from the choices that are listed. You'll also choose a non alcoholic fountain beverage. It's a way for people to order an app which isn't otherwise included for a TS credit on the DDP. Here's a link to the Les Chefs menu where the prix fixe choices are listed at the beginning of the menu:
http://allears.net/menu/menu_cdf.htm

If you don't care for the choices on the prix fixe menu, you can order an entrée, dessert and fountain bev from the regular menu.

OP - If you tell us the specific menu you're asking about...I'm sure someone here will tell you if that option is covered by a dining plan credit.

Just to clarify - In 2 posts in this thread it has stated '1 TS, 1 CS and 1 snack per day' - when in reality it is per NIGHT of your stay. So if you are staying 7 nights, you get 7 TS credits, 7 CS credits and 7 snacks...Even if you're really going to be there 8 full days (if you arrive early and leave late on arrival/departure days).

Cancel the plan. Not worth it, especially if you are confused and not really sure how it works.

I believe this option was at Chefs de France :/

Yes you can use your TS credit for the prix fix at Chefs de France. You have to choose from the prix fix menu if you decide to do this and you will get the app, entrée, and dessert for no extra charge.

She should cancel the dining plan because she is needing clarification of his it works and what is included? Not sure I understand that response or that it is even helpful for the OP.

OP, ask all the questions you want so you are clear :-)

And then realize you are not getting value from it.

You have no idea if they are getting a "value" or not. Value can mean different things to different people. You don't know what the make up of their family is, or what restaurants they are eating at or what discounts they may have. People need to ask questions to figure out if it works for their family without blanketed unhelpful statements such as yours.

What is your objective for getting the Dining Plan?

Honestly, this past year has been super stressful for my family so I was given a gift from my grandmother for an all paid trip and she has already paidd for the resort, tickets, and dinning plan. The trip was a surprise so I had no idea what she was planning it. She wants to make it a fun enjoyable trip with no stress, so I was just trying to learn as much as I could..hence some questions

Reservations are already made but I just want to make sure I have all the ducks in a line :)

It's not complicated once you're there and using it. The CM's will let you know what you can order at each place. Once you do it once or twice you'll catch on. Enjoy what sounds like a well deserved trip!:goodvibes
