Confused even more now with the Frozen fireworks and closing of DHS

Fireworks at 945

Fantasmic! at 10



At first I was confused at a show after closing now there is 2.

Next up I am guessing the 2nd Fantasmic! show will be near empty as firewors/show will take over?

The fireworks in late August will be at 9:15.

They had a second fantasmic at 10:30 when the park closed at 10 when we were there a week ago. The second showing had a line down sunset while they tried to decide if they could have the show because of the weather. So don't count on the second show being empty.

I was thinking before the fireworks to do the second show as it maximizes the park hours. But now with fireworks I can see a draw to it and pulling some from Fantasmic!

I bet that would have happen the first day we were there since it was a star wars weekend and it was the same as you said. Fantasmic at 8:30, 10, fireworks at 9:30, park close 9:30. Most of the crowd was on Hollywood and Sunset, so I can see that they would have tried to push to fantasmic. It started raining during the fireworks so we left after them instead of going to fantasmic.

The 2nd performace of Fantasmic has started 30 minutes after park closing for the past several years.

This gives you plenty of time to enjoy the rides right up until closing time, then grab some snacks and head over to the show. We generally show up about 10 minutes before showtime and find great seats. The ampitheater is rarely over half full for the late show.

We were there in early June for a Star Wars weekend. There was no issue with having enough time to see the both fireworks and Fantasmic.

Disney started releasing details on the Frozen stuff in the comments of the announcement post on the Disney Parks Blog. It said that the DHS fireworks will be at 9:45 from July 5th through Aug. 16th. Then Aug. 17th through Sept. 1st, the fireworks move to 9:15.
