I have never cruised before and I don't know what to do !! I am booked on the DVC Member cruise for this October. It is booked for myself and DS6 only. I just noticed on the member site that I can book the 7nt Eastern for us and my dsis for only 12 pts more. What would you do? :confused3 I have read that the member cruise is a lot of fun and you get a lot of goodies but 7nts sound much better than 4nts. Is there a penalty if you cancel prior to the 75 days?

I'm answering the part "what would you do?":confused3

I would go with the 7 night eastern for myself, Dsis, and DS6. I would do it because of the company of having my DSis with me. I think DS6 will have lots of fun times on the cruise with groups of children at the activities, and I would like some known adult company to spend my time with. The goodies that we got on the MC that we went on in '05 were nice, but I gave away most of them. What we saved were the lithographs of the ship.

I think that if you cancel the MC, you will have to pay a fee to book the other cruise. The points that you initially had allotted for the cruise couldn't be used for DVC stays, they are now in I think what is known as reservation status and there are limits to what you could do with them.

Good luck as you decide. If you go on the MC, I'll bet you'll have lots of fun, it's just that I would prefer to go with an adult friend, as well as my DS and really 7 nights is better on a Disney Cruise!
