Confused. Can I bank 2020 points before my banking window expires?

No. Are you in your 2020 UY? You can not bank online until the official start.

People have said they could if they called.

You can only bank 2020 if you are in your 2020 UY. So anyone with an Oct or Dec UY will show banking window closed, even when searching 2020 or 2021 since it’s still the 2019 UY for those months.

Once Oct 1 hits, then 2020 points will show to be bankable online for Oct UY, etc.

I’ve seen some confusion about banking deadlines in relation to choosing a UY, which is often discussed when potential buyers are choosing a UY. The deadline is four months before the end of the UY of the points being banked, not four months before the UY begins.

Example:
February Use Year
It began 02/01/2020 and ends 01/31/2021.
Deadline for banking: 09/30/2020

According to PP: if you knew you were going to bank those points, the first day you could have banked them would have been 02/01/2020. If you had tried to bank them on 01/31/2020, it would have been too early. I never tried to bank more than a few weeks before the deadline, so I am not speaking from personal experience.
