Hi - can i just check - can you in effect borrow from two years worth of points, just because of the way the 11 month window falls???:confused3

for example - my use year is Dec. And I want to make a reservation in Nov 2009 for a vacation in Oct 2010. Can I borrow Dec 2009 points and Dec 2010 points to do this???:confused3

Sorry I get so confused - infact I think it is me confusing myself rather than anything else!!!:lmao:

If your reservation falls over the start of your new UY, you can borrow from 2 years for it. For example, if you book a trip that starts in your 2010 UY and ends in your 2011 UY, you can borrow 2011 points for the 2010 UY dates and 2012 points for the 2011 UY dates.

At least that's how I understand it. :)

oct 2010 is in your dec 2009 UY, so it's not "borrowing" pts to book oct 2010. that is a reservation using current UY points.

(UY has nothing to do with when you call to book. nothing. UY only affects when you are using your pts and when you can bank them.)

but if you booked a reservation from nov 28 through dec 4 in 2010, then yes, you could borrow from your 2010 UY to book nov 28-30, 2010 (since that is in your 2009 UY)...and then borrow from your 2011 UY to book dec 1-4, 2010 (since that is in your 2010 UY).

always stop and write out what period your UY covers (i.e. dec 2009 UY covers reservations from dec 1, 2009 through nov 30, 2010) and it gets a little easier. :thumbsup2

(dec UY is tougher, though, since most of your dates for use are actually in the next year.)

thanks Charles:thumbsup2 - That has been really clear, I will print this to keep for the next time I confuse myself!!:lmao: (I am hoping it will be easier in 'real' life, when I am actually booking things, rather than these made up scenarios in my head!!:rotfl:
