I went ahead & booked my Southwest flights last night at $99 each way. This morning, our arriving flight went down to $79. :headache:

Ok, so I'm now confused.

I called SW & the very nice lady on the phone explained to me how to change our flights to the cheaper one. She said it would tell me online whether any of it was refundable or if it would just be a credit for future use.

So, I went onto SW.com & did the whole change flight thing. When I got to the confirmation of changes page, it had 2 sections, a refundable & a nonrefundable. My $120 was listed in the refundable section with 2 choices, hold for future use or request refund. In the nonrefundable section was a $0.00. Does that mean I'll actually get a refund of the $120 on my card?

I was tempted to call back & ask since I thought the flights I picked were nonrefundable Wanna Get Away fares but hey, that was an option given & that is the one I checked, lol. & when I got my purchase confirmation, it had "Refund Requested: $120"

If so, YAY!! I didn't want credits as my son & I are the only ones going next year & I have no plans to fly with the older boys anywhere in the coming year. So, it would have expired for 4 of the credits. It's only $120 but that's still a savings!

Airfare total now is $1196 for 6!!!

Most airlines allow 24 hours for full refunds. So if you made the original reservation last night, that maybe why they refunded the difference to your card.

I had the same thing happen before. I believe I read on the SW site that they do offer refunds within 24 hours.

Isn't that a nice surprise!

Glad I was a chicken & didn't book until last night as well, lol. :scared1:
