I have searched several post about doing the single rider for FJ. Can someone break it down for me......can you do the single rider and still see the queue area, which I understand you want to see or is it all or nothing. And also if we are in a real time crunch what is the time differences to get to the single rider point if you can do that?

You get to see a little bit of the end of the queue, you skip an outdoor section of the queue and some of the inside section. As far as how long is the singles line,I've ridden the singles line where its taken 25-30 minutes and other times its been a walk on,probably in the middle most of the time.

You miss most of the queue with Single Rider. It's been awhile since I took the SR path, because on my recent trips the posted wait time has only been 30 min, actual wait about 20 min, and when it's that short I'd rather see the whole thing, so I don't know if I'm forgetting something. With SR you do get the Gryffindor Common Room and the Sorting Hat, but that's about it. You could separately do the Castle Tour and SR, which would let someone see everything except the outdoor section and the first hallway into the Castle (miss one of the statues and the counter for the house points).

It is definitely worth it to do the queue at least once, unless you are really seriously time crunched. The amount of detail is incredible, and you feel like you are really walking through Hogwarts.

Our strategy is to do the full queue once to experience the castle then use the single rider for the rest of the trip. If the lines are low our last night, we'll do the full queue one more time.

If you only do the Single Rider, you'll miss a lot of good stuff in the queue. Best strategy is to do the Castle Tour first (just ask the employee at the ride entrance), so you can go through the queue at your own pace, and then do Single Rider for the actual ride.
