I've been reading about the changes coming to the Cantina San Angel in Mexico. I understand the new Hacienda and I think it's a great idea. What I'm confused about is the San Angel Inn inside Mexico. One article I read (and I can't for the life of me find it again!) said that it, too, would be getting a major rehab with a big change in its menu. This restaurant has always been our favorite, and we always order the Pollo Rajas. As I read more articles , I saw no further mention of these changes. So, I know this forum is the best place to get the scoop on what's going on. IS there going to be a change made to the San Angel Inn inside Mexico and to its menu or not. If so, does anyone know when this is all taking place? We are a large group (11 adults, 1 child) planning a trip in 2011. We all agreed Mexico had to be on our list for a special meal. Now it's up in the air. Can You help?

Have not heard anything official or otherwise about a rehab to San Angel Inn (at least not a physical one that would result in closure of the restaurant). But menus do change once in awhile, sometimes relatively often, at all restaurants at WDW so it's entirely possible they're considering revamping their menu. It might be more likely since Hacienda de San Angel will be a TS restaurant open in the evenings and they may want to serve similar dishes there to the ones they sell at the Inn now (the same company that operates the Inn will operate the Cantina and Hacienda). I haven't seen anything that says they are, however.

This is one of my favs also and was wondering the same thing. How much of a change? I really love this place.

Thanks! I just read that the Cantina will open for lunch and the Hacienda will open at 4PM. Nothing about the San Angel Inn. One article I read yesterday said they were adding 55 more seats in the Inn....like, where?? It was a tight fit before. Maybe they're taking some of the retail space for this mini expansion. I'll keep an eye out for any more news. We love this restaurant and have talked it up with the newbies in our group. Everyone is so-o looking forward to eating there!

That is not to say there won't be a rehab- just that Disney doesn't appear to have announced one yet.
