I'm confused and knew some kind Disney luvin' soul here can help me :)

We are confused about the PO Riverside room choices. We would prefer to not be in Alligator Bayou, don't feel the need for the Princess theme rooms as our kids are older, so what is the standard room?

Are the choices Mansions or Alligator Bayou. Or is there a block of regular rooms that are neither?

I've looked at the property map but still don't get it. Thanks for any clarifications!

My understanding is not all room in the Mansions were converted to royal rooms. Just request mansions and do not pay for the royal rooms(extra cost), but remember it is only a request you may still get a AB room.

There is Alligator Bayou Buildings 14-39 and the Mansions section. The Mansion buildings consist of Acadian House, Magnolia Terrace, Oak Manor (Royal Rooms) & Parterre Place (Royal Rooms) If you want the mansions sections put your request in for either Acadian House or Magnolia Terrace. also, check out this great site for all POR info: portorleans.org

Check out this site for an explanation of the different room categories at POR:

And dzorn is right, not all the mansion rooms were converted to royal rooms, and it is a separate booking category, so you won't get one unless you book that category.

If there are 5 people in your group, you will be guaranteed in the AB section. If there are 4, then you will probably will end up in the Mansion, unless they are full, then you will end up in the AB. You will not be put in the Royal room unless you pay for that room.

Thank you so much! That totally clarifies it for me. I wish there was a thank you button or something on this forum. Your help is much appreciated!
