Confused about Photoshop -which to buy ?

I see them on the internet for $30-over a hundred.
Figure close to a hundred must have more bells and whistles....
and what version 6-7-8 etc..

anyone out there to help?

Honestly, I use the software Gimp. Its free, online and works better than photoshop. I have used it often, for both scrapbooking and photo restoration

I'm just starting digi, but it seems like PS ELements has plenty for me. I have 7. From teh tutorial I saw, 6 had a few issues that got better in 7. You can get bargains on 7 now with 8 coming out. I owuld go for 6 or 7 adn save some $.

Christine - Do you use software gimp for digi books or just photo editing?

I have Photoshop Elements 7 and I really like it. Very intuitive (much more so than previous PSE editions).

I agree with the other poster... you should be able to find PSE 7 a little cheaper now that PSE 8 is coming out soon. My dad found it somewhere (Sam's Club I think) marked down to about $40.

Thanks for the suggestion about Gimp. I have been wanting to give a try at digi scrapbooking and am more inclined to do so with a free program.
