Confused about photopass

Is there an advantage to buying ahead for Disneyland? I have tried to figure out the photopass from WDW information, but it is confusing. I want Disneyland specific information, please. How does it work? Do you pick up the CD while you are there, or do they mail it later? I don't care about borders etc. Is there a reason I am not noticing for going with the ability to edit when you get home? Is this even possible with Disneyland? Thanks!

I just got mine delivered yesterday (and boy, it was fast...even to Canada).
I don't think there is an advantage to buying ahead (I read somewhere here it might be even more expensive). You can edit it online, once you type in the code(s). Then when you are all done with the edits, you purchase.

The price for ordering beforehand is $99.99 for either WDW or DL - but the price for purchasing after the fact for DL is only $79.99!

If you do not care about adding borders, just buy the CD at the parks at the end of your visit! I saw a sign for the CD while there; it's 74.99 and includes 3 5x7 prints. I did not see if they still offer JUST the CD (if they do, in January it was 59.99 for just the uneditable CD, as an idea of cost).

Do not pre-order for Disneyland Resort, it makes no sense anymore! Not since they lowered the price for the editable CD for DLR.
