Confused about MTMM

Ok - I get this if I book a package through Disney right? What if I book a hotel and then tickets separately through Disney? The 40% hotel rate and then booking tickets separately is the cheapest route from what I can tell. Is MTMM worth it? And what if I book through someone like Get Away Today Vacations? Does this include the MTMM?

We booked a package to get this perk with a few others and we disappointed in the show. It is cute but not worth the extra hundred(s) to get it. You can look on youtube and there are a lot of home video clips of the show. For this trip we will not do it again and use the extra money to enjoy a character meal instead.

Are you including the taxes & resort fee? I only ask as our package right now is pricing higher separately than together, as we're getting the 5 for 3 with the package. I'm surprised, as this is contrary to what I usually hear, which is that the packages aren't worth it :confused3. I guess the MTMM and other perks truly are a bonus in our case.

I booked ours a while ago, so it doesn't matter to me - but I'm obsessive about constantly checking rates (even if there's nothing I can do about it!).

Whether a la carte or package is best is absolutely relative to what you want and when you want it. There's no absolute answer, NewbieMouse.

OP, booking hotel isn't a package, and you would'nt get MTTMM with it. If booking hotel stay, do be sure to add in the room taxes and the 13.80 per night (resort fee plus tax on the fee).

I'm not sure if GAT packages include MTTMM...you have ot check because each site that uses Walt Disney Travel Company has a slightly different set of perks!

I'm glad to hear you say that, and that it matches my experience. I kept reading that they were a waste of money, and was feeling a little hard done by. :goodvibes

I am using the 40% off room discount (not the 5 for 3) and looking at booking hotel and tickets differently. Even with taxes and resort fee I think they are coming up less expensive than with the package (5 for 3).

That's awesome. I've heard that many people find MTMM and the other extras (lanyards, pins, character calls, preferred seating, etc.) aren't worth it to a lot of people who have experienced them, but I guess it's an individual value thing.

What exactly does the preferred seating get you in these packages? Does anyone know what shows?

The preferred seating sounds much more valuable then it actually is by most accounts. I have read many accounts. It is not a bad thing. But all that helpful either. Others who have actually done it can describe it better.
