Confused about Fantasmic! Dinner Package

We are planning on eating lunch at Hollywood and Vine for their meal with the Playhouse Disney characters. Now I hear they have a Fantasmic Dinner Package where you eat early and get preferred passes for Fantasmic. Do they do separate dinners in the afternoon where you can either do the characters or get the Fantasmic package or are they combined? I'd LOVE to do the "dinner" there mid-afternoon with the characters and get the Fantasmic preferred seats at the same time if there is a way to do it. Am I making any sense? LOL

Yes you totally make sense, but I really don't know if the characters are available for the late lunch/early dinner period that they offer for the Fantasmic Dining Package. The best way to find out is to just phone Disney Dining. Have a sneaking feeling though, that the Characters are only there for the breakfast and lunch crowds. In that case you will face an either/or situation. Good luck, and please let us know what you find out.

There are no characters at dinner. You would have to find out when lunch ends and dinner begins. You could book a lunch package though. They should be able to tell you what the latest availability is for the lunch package.

So does the lunch package include the characters AND the Fantasmic preferred tickets? If so, I am in

We did the Fantasmic package this past June and we were not that impressed with the seating for Fantasmic. It is off to the right side and we have had better seats waiting with the crowd. The only plus is that you do not have to wait with them.

We booked the same for Feb. I'll be honest, I had no interest in eating here, but I know my husband and kids would never wait on line for F! We saw it many years ago when the boys were very little, so they don't remember it. My husband was not impressed with the show, so I knew he wouldn't want to wait again. I liked F!, not loved, but do want the boys to see it again now that they are older.

I've been looking at lots of food reviews and the food doesn't look so bad! I'm looking forward to our meal there!!!

100% better! If we do the Fantasmic pkg we usually try to get Mama Melrose, but that's the first of the three Fantasmic pkg restaurants to go. Several times when we couldn't get MM, we did H&V. It's always been so bad that my husband now says if we can't get MM, then we'll just take our chances standing in line. He is not a picky eater at all, but H&V is the only restaurant in WDW that he refuses to return to (after three really bad meals there).

It should be 180 days, but they don't always release them to the system for booking on time. So try at 180 and see what is available. Once released though, they often go fast.

Is Fantasmic really every night at 9pm in May, or is the May 2012 calendar on this site not updated yet? I really want to book our meals for that week, but if Fantasmic is only certain nights of the week, we need to take that into consideration... Thanks!

No, you can't add the Fantasmic package to an already booked dinner reservation. You will need to book a completely different reservation that includes the Fantasmic package, and your existing dinner reservation will be cancelled.
