I called to book a character lunch for later this month at Play & Dine at Hollywood and Vine. The CM told me they were no longer open for lunch, but I could book dinner at 3:30 and later.

I went All Ears, and they have the menus as of Oct 2007 and they list breakfast and lunch, but no character dinners.

Any one know for sure? I'm feeling like I got bad info from the CM.

Dinner was never a character meal. We went for dinner in early Sept as part of a Fantasmic package. Our ADR was for 4:40pm. This was our most average meal of the trip. Not bad, but wouldn't rush to have it again.

The character meals were breakfast and lunch. We booked breakfast but ended up not going. Needed a morning at "home" by the pool and didn't need 2 TS meals in a day, we had dinner at Boma booked for the same day.

Its possible that they've discontinued the lunch meal. If the demand wasn't there that would be the right move. Most of the character restaurants are just two settings a day except for peak times.

I'd call again and confirm that the lunch has been discontinued. On a lighter note I have read a number of endearing reviews/trip reports on the Play n Dine meal, that's why we booked it, so I think your little one could definitely enjoy it if you go!

Keep in mind that, while CMs can be wrong, allearsnet.com and wdwinfo.com are UNofficial sites devoted to Disney information. In the case of a restaurant's hours/meals (but not menus) I would expect that a Disney Cast Member would have more accurate up-to-date information.

I have a lunch reservation on November 28th and was definitely told there were characters for lunch. I dont know about dinner tho.:confused3

I have an ADR for a character lunch there in December. Maybe they meant that they didn't have anything available for lunch?

They are still open for both Breakfast and Lunch for the character dining. Dinner is not a character meal.
The CM was mistaken if he/she told you that they no longer offer a character lunch at Hollywood & Vine.

Hi, we were there about 3 weeks ago and ate there for lunch. My 3 y/o son had a blast and danced almost the entire time. Stephanie
