I talked to WDW - 407-824-8000
Magic Hours - They said you can get the wrist bands for evening extra hours in the morning. :bounce:
YES ! I called a second time and confirmed :cool1:

I asked about a Thursday - EPCOT in the AM - then go to MK for the afternoon, 7:15 PM HDD, and then back to EPCOT for magic extra hours.
MK would close at 9 PM.

We stay in the EPCOT resort area, so I would rather be at EPCOT at the end of the night.

Per this web-site - "Wristbands distributed no earlier than two hours before the park closes to the general public"
:cheer2: ABOVE DOES NOT APPLY TO WDW RESORT GUESTS :cheer2:

Thanks so much for letting us know. :wave2:

That will make it so much easier to get them, especially if we are spending the day in a different park and wanting to go to the EMH park just at night.

EMH are ONLY a perk for RESORT GUESTS so I'm not sure what you mean?? There would be no one else trying to get wristbands EXCEPT resort guests. Non-resort guests cannot not attend EMH.

So this means instead getting them in the last 2 hours, we can get them all day long?

I just got back Fri night from a trip to the world and in the parks it is still the 2 hours before. I went to try and get one at Epcot on Thurs night about 3 hours before and there was a sign that said they will give them out starting at 7. I did several EMH and none of them were available until 2 hours before park closing. This was at all 4 parks.

I called WDW twice and they told me a WDW resort guest, Swan/Dolphin or Hilton - with VALID resort ID - can get the magic hour PM wristbands any time during the day (when the park is open, obviously) :flower:

Maybe you just have to ask - or maybe they changed the policy since HolyNEd - or maybe you have to ignore the sign, show your resort room key and you get the wrist band.

:cool1: I just called again - sorry to HolyNed - you should have ASKED.
3rd time I called .....
I was told - show your room key - in the AM the ticket booth may not have the wristbands yet - but the ticket booth should tell you where to go to get them. So, YES, you can get wristbands early if you are a WDW resort guest.

My guess who would have the wristbands in the AM - City Hall in MK - where you get birthday buttons, Guest Relations near Spaceship Earth in EPCOT, In MGM Oscar's Classic Car near the entrance, and in AK - wherever strollers are rented (Guest Relations)

Well actually I did ask. And I also just called and was told this was just put into effect this week. So yes what happened to me LAST week and what is happening THIS week are totally different. Disney does this all the time in changing their policies.

It's hard to check the IDs in the dark. So this may just be a way to confirm the room ID and any other ID in the light, plus speed up the process. When we went in January, you just got into a line (kind of like E-night tickets), showed your ID (or whatever you wanted to show that looked like your very own current room ID) in dim light, and got a wrist band.

This should make it better to keep those out who are not qualified to be there.

How does the Extra Hours Magic work in Epcot on Thursday night?

I know that FutureWorld normally closes at 7PM. How late does it stay open say on March 10th?
Also WorldShowcase normally closes at 9 PM. Does it stay open later? I assume that the Illuminations still is set off at 9PM.

Thanks for asking about the wrist bands.

We are trying to decide whether we shold go to MGM on Thursday or Sat. And then do MK on the other day. And of couse try to work a late night entry at Epcot into the mix!

I could see doing DS/MGM on Thursday and then hopping to Epcot for the evening since DS closes after the 7 PM Fantasmic so we would hit EP at say 8:30 PM. Then on Saturday do MK and it stays open until 11 PM.Would that be good or ...

Should we do MK on Thursday. It closes at 8 PM. And then go to EP?
Then on Saturday do DS/MGM with it closing after the second Fantasmic at 8:30 PM?

Please help me make an educated decision here. I need to decide because I need to make PS for the RainForest and I thought we would do that on our AK day and that is going to be Friday at this point! :Pinkbounc

I'm not sure I understand. Can you get a wrist band for MK EMH at Epcot? Or is the benefit of this early distribution that you can go to MK in the morning, get your wrist band, go back to the room and nap, and then come back later without having to stand in line then to get a wrist band?

Both times this week (yesterday was the last time we tried to get them earlier) we were given the places they are giving them out and told we could only get them there, two hours before. Our literature also says that, but we tried anyway, since we had read here you could. Guest services said they didn't want to have to use the manpower (they have to be put on for you)or expense of bracelets to give them out earlier to people who may not be staying. So it's either a case of the phone cm's not having a clue or the parks not knowing what they are doing in their own parks. There are enough places set up (with light) to get them, that it doesn't matter. They only glance at your room key, and don't ask for ID, so it's pretty easy.

It wouldn't be the first time that the people answering the phones don't know what they're talking about. Until somebody comes back and reports that they were able to get a wristband earlier than 2 hours, I wouldn't plan on it.

The last time we did an E-night, granted it was awhile ago, but we couldn't get our wristbands early either. The CM at Splash Mt. said they didn't even have the wristbands delivered to them until the 2 hr. mark. And we were actually standing there, waiting for them at the 2 hr. mark later that day, and that's when the box full got there.

As far as resort people being able to get them early...once again, ONLY resort people are eligable to get the wristbands. Has nothing to do with earlier in the day for us and those staying off-site have to wait. Off-site doesn't get them period!!!

It is still 7pm at Epcot. Waiting for email back on the hours for MK. I am sure they are the same though.
