I do wonder how many Americans and Canadians will attend the event 11 years from now?

I'm adventurous but I have ZERO interest in visiting Saudi Arabia. Plus, with my sarcastic sense of humour? I'd get thrown in jail. I'll just watch from Europe.

That sarcasm would throw you in jail for sure. I would think many in that country disagree on many things the regime does.

I'm sure there are great things about SA and that their citizens are fine people. But like I said, there are some places that Lord Manhammer should just not visit. That's one of them.

I should also mention that I've publicly called MBS a murderer so I don't think they'd want me there either.

I don't know ... something dramatic would have to happen between now and then - like winning the lottery level of dramatic - but then if I won the lottery - I can definitely say - I would not be watching soccer games.

Can we all agree however that international tournaments should not just always be held in Europe and North America 90 percent of the time? I would love to see more African and Oceania nations get more opportunities to be honest.

Now that's a sentiment that I can behind. Although I also wonder how practical that would be. Oceania would be awesome but it's not exactly easy to access by anyone except those in Oceania and maybe parts of SE Asia. Africa would be cool though they'd need to hold it in a stable enough country where folks would feel comfortable attending. I also wonder if Africa and Oceania could be prohibitively expensive for many fans. I'm not sure and am just talking out loud here, but I'd certainly attend an event in either of those locations.

I still find soccer boring and wouldn't attend even if held near where I live. What exactly takes 11 years of planning to have to select these sites so far into the future? I don't think even the Olympics is planned that far in advance..............LOL.

Planning an event like the world cup that involves so many constituents isn't something that can be done overnight. Not to mention, in some instances, like Brasil, they built new stadiums (I won't get into the good or bad of that).

How long does it take to plan the average wedding, one year maybe? Think of an event ten times the scope and you've got a decade.

It takes longer to pay off the bribes to Fifa. and then they still have to raise money to build the stadiums.
