At 7 months, most times of year you should be able to get lake view but likely not MK or standard view at BLT. For other times year -- such as Christmas week, December in general, other holidays -- often nothing at BLT unless you are looking for only a night or two. Moreover, you should assume with BLT that it will be very important to call exactly 7 months out and not wait beyond that because there will be a lot of members trying to switch into BLT at 7 months who also will be calling exactly 7 months out.

Personal View: I don't care much for the Contemporary look and area either and I would stick with AKV. In any event, the price difference should not factor in because BLT has lower dues per point than AKV and that is likely to continue into the future.

What are you basing this off of? You say "often" but we only have one or two years of data to go by, and it's a brand new resort, so it's shiny and attractive. I have a funny feeling that in five years the demand for BLT will drop, especially if they build something else in the mean time.

I just hated to have to walk so much after MK to cross over on the ferry to get to the buses. Maybe we can drive to MK instead of taking the bus from AKV. Now, how are the studios at the Wilderness? my son loved the resort when we went by it. But I would think that those would be harder to get at 7 months that BLT, Am I correct?
thanks again

The resort buses are directly outside the MK turnstiles. You don't get on the ferry to get to the resort buses. The resort buses are a lot closer than BLT.

It would be less walking to take the bus from AKV to MK than to drive to the TTC, park, take the tram to the TTC and then take either the ferry or monorail over to the MK.

In reality everything is best guess.

Until a few years ago DVC was a side business for Disney. Then Disney realized that it could be a money maker so they built additional resorts, invested a lot of money in marketing, and almost doubled the number of members.

As additional members are added, who knows how hard it will be to get reservations. Many are already reporting and we have experienced increasing difficulty getting reservations during periods where our first choice was always available.

Disney may make additional reallocations and rule changes that could also change things again.

Bottom line is plan for the worse and hope that it doesn't happen. That's why I tell everyone to Buy Where You Love To Stay.

Go Chicago Black Hawks!
Sorry !
I couldn't help ,myself!! :rotfl:
Anyway!
I think that we went to Epcot after MK one time, that's why we had to go to take the ferry!
That information is good to have , as it was our first time and we did not have a car
thanks

Thanks Sandi,
I think that we are going to get them all at AKV so I can make sure that my points are available at 11 months and book there and then check at 7 months for 3 nights either at BLT or The Wilderness. Now Let's say that I reserved 10 night at AKV, if at 7 months I get the 3 nights that I want somewhere else, can I just change the nuber of nights that we are staying at AKV?

Glad you made a decision. I know it was posted earlier, but wanted to re-state that you should split that contract up into smaller units. It will still be treated as one contract as far as reservations go.
