Confirmation?

I have rented points for my vacation in July. The member sent me the confirmation which had my name on it. I was waitlisted for VWL. I got the waitlist. When he sent me the new confirmation, it only had the members name on it. My name was no where on the confirmation. Is that normal? I checked with the member and he said it was okay. I'm a little nervous though. How many days ahead of time can I call the resort to check on the reservation?

You can usually call the resort about 5 days before arrival. In this case, I think you should be fine, but the member can also ask MS to send another confirmation letter with your name on it.

Is there a number a non-member can call to get the confirmation #? I am waiting for this information but was wondering if I could just call and get the information on our reservation.

No - only members have access to the DVC reservation system. A few days prior to arrival you should be able to call the resort directly and verify the reservation in your name, but until that time you are dependent on the person you are renting from for any information about the reservation.

I would hope that you insisted on getting a printed confirmation, in your name, from the person you are working with. DVC will send the confirmation letter to the member - who should then be able to send it along to you.

The letter will have the details of your reservation, including confirmation number, resort, your name, type of villa reserved and address/phone number of the resort as well as a note about any requests made.

Yes, I am getting a printed confirmation. I am just waiting for it to arrive so that I can pick it up. I just didn't know if I could call for the details before I got my copy of the confirmation.

How soon after the member makes the reservation until they typically receive the confirmation packet? It's been a little over a week since the reservation was made.

Sorry if I should have put these questions in my own thread.

The last reservations I made it took 10-14 days to get the written confrimation.
