Confirm Letter says DC discount on FT pkg, but I'm not DC member!

I saw in another post that someone was quoted 21 days prior for final payment on a Fairy Tale package. I too was told 21 days, and when I received my confirmation letter today, now I know why (I think).

A line item on the letter is for a $50 TDC Package Discount-- that's why my total was a little less than I expected (based on a 4-night stay priced online).

An insert with the letter states that "Because your reservation is a Disney Club Member reservation..." and quotes the terms as $100 deposit per reservation by 14 days from booking, and final payment by 21 days prior to arrival.

However, I was charged a $200 deposit (which I expected), and I have verified that on my CC statement online. The weird thing was, I specifically asked for code ZRFS, which was (and still is) the code shown on disneyworld.com , along with the number for WDTC.

Should I confirm again, and risk losing my $50 discount (yes, an ethical question for the debate board), so I won't be hassled at check-in time when they might ask for a DC card?

I can't answer as to what you should do - I think I'd call them rather than risk something weird when I got there - the $50 isn't worth it. But on a ressie I recently made they noted on the confirmation letter that I'm a DC member and I'm not as far as I know. (I ended up later having to cancel that ressie). When I called back to check some rates recently they also seemed to think I was a DC member. My membership expired sometime ago. I don't know what's going on with that.

Good luck!

Hi there!

On a somewhat related note, I received my confirmation today for our Fairytale Package, and it said that we were booked at ASSp rather than ASMu. So I called to report the error, and a lady at the CRO told me that I WAS booked at the ASMu, but that typos on confirmations happen fairly frequently.

I would call to make sure about that discount you see on your confirmation. It may just be a typo afterall. :-(

Carol, I too was once an MKC member thru work, but as far as I know, it was never extended into a DC membership. I had booked previous trips (2-3 yrs ago) using an MKC discount, but I wouldn't think they'd give me an automatic discount because of that.

 Kinda scary... isn't this reservation system computerized?!? If this happens frequently, it's a wonder it doesn't end up in a lot of surprised people either showing up at the wrong resort or calling to complain!
