Confess: Who else won't let their children wear their new clothes until Disney?

Guilty. Sounds like we have another support group :grouphug: Good to know I'm not the only one.
I had a "special" place in my dd's closet for her clothes for Disney. Of course my husband dressed her one morning in one of them. I was like "aaah, that's a Disney outfit!" He said "no, it doesn't have any characters on it." I tried to explain what I meant but he thought I was crazy :confused3

ME !!!! I am guilty!. I thought it was just me. :teeth: now I feel normal  .thanks

Guilty here...but it makes common sense

We go in the New Year so Santa brings us new disney clothes ....see, makes sense :teeth:

Having 3 girls in the house, trying to find enough pairs of socks for several days is a nightmare. I always go and buy a couple of new packs of socks, just so I don't have to try to find 21 pair here at the house that match. I swear, I don't know what happens to them all!

I wash and dry my kids socks in a zip sweater bag. It really helps keep them from getting lost.

I do buy a few new T's that will wait for the trip in Oct so they won't be wearing them at home but they are wearing last years T's this summer.

LOL! :rotfl: Sounds like a scene that took place at my house!! :)

Wow and I thought I was the only person crazy enough to do this! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have been buying stuff since last year's end of season sales! I have all the clothes laid out on the spare bed right now, divvied into the right piles (like my mom does, thats kinda scary!) My DS has stuff in there he's never seen!

We dont usually buy a lot of clothes as souvenirs of our trips so...(SHHH dont tell DH I said that!)

this is so great, here I was thinking I was the only one who did this.
We leave next Friday, I was just pulling out the new clothes to see what we have and what else is needed.

thank you, I feel so much better about my self!!!

We are a strange bunch aren't we. I was laughing about someone's DH mistakenly putting a "Disney" outfit on their child. I can so relate. DH thinks I'm just nuts - so glad to hear that other people do the same thing.

We have to leave our house in 10 days so right now I'm doing the ziploc bag packing thing. DH used to think that was nutty now he's a total convert. He saw how much easier it was for the kids and how much neater it kept everything. Of course he still can't believe I buy dollar store shoe racks to take with us on vacation.

I'm guilty! My friends call me nuts :cool1: :cool1: , we don't go untill the end of July, and I started buying and packing in April. Oh well If she don't stain them they can be back to school clothes!

hello are we twins? I do the same. In fact I am going in end of Aug so what is there new Disney clothes will be school clothes!

We're not going until February but I've already started buying clothes for my granddaughters and no way are they going to wear them until we go. I'm not even telling them I have them. Heck, their dad (my son) doesn't know either.

not me. I tend to rely on favorites that I know the kids find comfortable. Nothing new, nothing untried.

Another mom that won't let her kids wear new clothes until vacation. I also do this for pictures I'm having taken of the kids. I am so glad to know I'm not alone.

GUILTY! :teeth:
I do it too. I shop the summer sales at Disney and my other favorite stores. I try to keep a few of their summer outfits nice too. I only let them wear it a few times and then keep it set aside for vacation. I can't help myself, I do it anytime we go away. I like wearing new things for the restaurants and pictures. Plus, we're off to a good start with a new wardrobe the following season! :rotfl:

DD22mos. had five new outfits (see below) with matching hats and socks for our trip. Then my FIL wanted to take her shopping for some new clothes for her trip. I didn't have the heart to tell him no, so we went shopping and got....jammies and shoes!!

We DID strip off her cream colored tank top and put a bib on her before letting her tear into a Mickey Premium bar, though...:mickeybar Chocolate is MURDER on clothing!

gypsydoodlebug----what an ADORABLE picture of your DD!!! My DD will be 20months when we go in 3 weeks, I hope she will love the characters like yours obviously did! :)

Funny story--DD was 6 (now 15) the first time we took her to Disney. The morning of our flight she was all dressed up in her hot pink Minnie overalls. We decided to get some breakfast while we waited at the airport. My husband buys a chocolate muffin. DD sits in it!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I cleaned her up as best I could but it still looked like she had pooped her pants!! We even have a picture of her walking down Mainstreet for the very first time--muffin stain in full view!!! :flower:

Well, DH caught me as I was finishing packing last night! He said, "what the heck is this!!?? Tags?? New clothes, shoes, underware, PJ'S??!!" He found me out! I am guilty too. I buy all new stuff and won't let the kids wear it till our trip! I am also guilty of doing this for myself too!!!LOL
It is mostly because they ruin everything within 10 mins of wearing it!!LOL And I'm the same way! Having a 2yo I never leave the house without a stain!
Also, I like to be on vacation and wearing nice clean new clothing.
I knew I couldn't be the only one who does this, can't wait to tell DH!!

Thank you!! Bella LOVES Pooh & Friends. She didn't care for Ariel too much, although she likes her -- guess it was the fact that Ariel actually talked to her. She loved the Cape May Cafe breakfast as well. The best thing we did was get her acquainted with the characters before we got there. We didn't get a chance to do this with some (e.g. Stitch, and she can't tell Belle apart from Sleeping Beauty) but she knew Cinderella.

That's why I rip the tags off long before DH comes home from work. He doesn't really understand why the kids need everything new before we go. Of course my kids stain something within 10 minutes also so at least we start out looking nice.
