hi foks,

I've been to WDW a few times but DL is new to me. I'm planning on attending a conference at Grand Californian Hotel, July 11-16 2007.

I'll be traveling with my Hubby, and 3 kids ( turns 8 during the trip, 6, 2) also my 8yo has special needs, making crowds tought. we've never traveled to disney during a high session, due to my son's special needs we have ALWAYS gone during quiet times.

My inlaws hopefully will be traveling with us to help with the kids when I'm at the conference.

i plan on staying at Grand Californian Hotel,

I would love any suggestions and input.

does DL have the baby care stations where you can find a quiet spot to change a diaper?

thanks

Beth

The baby care stations in Dl are awsome! They are next to the photo place.

Be sure to go early in the day. Because you're staying in the GC, you will be able to make use of early entry any day it is offered and that should help with the crowds a lot.
In the afternoon, if the crowds are too much, go use the pool or head over to California Adventure and see some stuff there. I love that park and I think it gets a poor rap sometimes. There is lots there for little ones to enjoy. Last week my kids had a blast in the water park in Bug's Land. They got soaked. All the California people probably thought I was a terrible parent (Californian's were complaining that it was cold) but to us that was lovely weather!!
There is also a baby care station in California Adventure near the tortilla place, I think. I haven't used that one, dh did, but the one in Disneyland is great.
Also, DL used to offer a special pass for individuals with special needs, but I know that the use of it has changed since I last used it. Perhaps some others can help with the info on that now.

My daughter has issues and crowds are tough for her, too. I do find DL more crowded than Magic Kingdom (Main Street may be more intimate - but that equals smaller and more crowded). When we went summer of 2002 it was very tough for her. Early in the day was definitely better and the rest of the day at the hotel/CA also helped. GCH seemed like a calmer hotel. We are staying there in January (she now says that she is ready to handle DL again and asked to go). I'll try to post a trip report.
