I am attending a conference in Los Angeles at the Millenium Hotel in April. I know Disneyland is not too far - anyone have any ideas or know the best way for me to get from my hotel in Los Angeles to Disneyland. I will not have a rental car. I'm just looking at visiting for one day and returning to my hotel in Los Angeles. Thanks for your suggestions.

Times? Dates? A little more info might help get an answer

Oh ... sorry. My conference is April 1-2. I was thinking about going to Disneyland on the 3rd. Its a weekday and I would have all day at my disposal.

In that case, I would get up super early and be at DL when it opens. I believe that day is an early entry day, so it will probably be slightly busier than at normal opening (since the early entry gang would be in already)--any way you can come down and stay the night before at one of the DLR hotels? That would give you early entry (or I guess it's called Magical Mornings now) and give you a jump-start. Did you say you had an AP--you could call and see if they have an AP rate available. . . .

Either way, I think it's after the big Spring Break rush so it shouldn't be too awful since it's a Thursday. . . . .

hope that helps!

adding to the above--I don't know of any good way to get from a hotel in L.A. to DLR without a rental car . . . . can you get one for one day?

I'd check with your hotel and see if they offer a shuttle service or any sort of mode of transportation to take you to & from the park. That's the only thing I can think of without having a rental car, other than the bus. I don't have any experience with the bus system in L.A., OC, etc. because when I lived there, I never utilized it---it would have taken me 2 hours to go 1 mile. In a straight line. With 3 transfers. I heard it's better now, though.

Take the MTA Red Line (subway) to Union Station, then Amtrak or Metrolink to Anaheim station, and ART or taxi from there to DL.

Alternatively MTA has the #460 bus which will take you from downtown LA to the DL shuttle entrance. It might take longer, but has fewer "moving parts" than the subway/train/ART route. The downtown stops are shown in Inset 1 in this link:

Maybe your hotel has a shuttle to LAX... then you could catch one of the many shuttles that go to the DLR?

Yes, catch the Metrolink from Union Station (I would just graba taxi so you can catch the early train with no hassles) and get off at Angels Stadium. From there you can grab a cab again as you are around a 10 minute drive from the resort. Repeat process to get home.

Or get to an airport or departing spot (or place they will pick you up if they won't come to your hotel) and take a supershuttle type service.

Shoot, just rent a car for the day. It is rather cheap for a compact and it might save you time, hassle and give you some privacy.

Good luck, definitely go for it as it is not difficult to get there and let us know how it went!
