Hello:

I am hoping to plan a 10 day WDW trip next summer and would like to investigate staying offsite at a condo or townhome. It will be my husband, 8 year old son, and 14 month old daughter. So two bedroom is very sufficient, or even a one bedroom with a pullout for my son. We have always stayed onsite in the past but with a young toddler we want to take our time, just spending a little time each day at WDW...also...

What else should I consider?

Location?
What about Parking? How much will we pay per day?

If we come and go in the same day, will we have to pay for parking more than once? Or is coming and going multiple times unreasonable?

General advice?

Thanks!

With 2 kids you will certainly find a condo/townhome so much more relaxing - the extra space is just great (we have 2 kids and know a small hotel room gets smaller as your vacation goes on).

Try looking on sites like www.homeaway.com where you can select the requirement that you need. There are lovely townhomes and condos at places like Terre Verde, Coral Cay, Windsor Hills and many more. It just takes a bit of research but it is well worth it. We would recommend that you look for somewhere within about 15 mins drive from Disney which is easily managed each day.

Parking costs are per day at the parks, $10 I think but if you hop to another park just keep your ticket so you won't need to pay again. This cost is balanced off with being able to eat at the home rather than in Disney each day - saving you $$$$$ :goodvibes

You'll find a miriad of information on here. Too much, probably! Just my two cents... Windsor Hills is a great place for condo's. You should be able to find a 2 BR for $75 a night or so (depending on time of year, could be more or a little less). Parking went up this year to $11 per day. If you're doing many ADR's (especially character meals and any other sit-down meals), you may want to look at upgrading one ticket to an annual pass. Then you get free parking, plus you can buy a discount dining pass only available to AP's which saves you 20% on meals, I think...

We got our WH condo at VRBO.com. Just look for condos with good feedback from previous guests.

I agree with what Cruz91 said. We are a family of 4 and have stayed at Cypress Pointe and Windsor Hills both 2 bedrooms both priced reasonable for what you get. Try windsorhillsrent.com you can put a request in for rates direct from owners. If you find a rate and a owner that you are comfortable with I would recommend staying at windsor hills. If your prefer you can check hotelkingdom.com for cypress pointe and book without dealing with a private owner. Like Cruz91 stated you can find so much info here about staying in condo. Look around I'm sure you find several good choices of condo's to choose from. Good luck!

You could also check through the accommodation reviews on the DIS to get some first hand comments on places that other DISers have rented. It is always good to make contact with someone who has already stayed at a home for an honest opinion on it :thumbsup2
