First let me say thanks for all the great info I've learned here. I have been trying to convince my husband to upgrade to concierge level in May. We're already booked at the Yacht club for myself, DH, DS7, DS3 and my sister. He says that if they offer beer it might be worth it to him. Is there anyone who knows - do they put out beer or can you request it?? Thanks :Pinkbounc Hoping to convince him!!

Don't think beer but to be treated as someone special you can't beat. Wine and sodas is what they uusually have.
hope you do just to see what it is like have a great time

Never seen beer offered at any WDW concierge. I heard that possibly it was offered at one on Superbowl Sunday or some other such "National Holiday".

You are free to bring your own beer and sit in the lounge with it, but they do not provide it, even on request.

They did offer beer at one time in some of the concierge lounges. That has long since been discontinued. Believe me, a few years ago we (and a few DIS supporters) tried to lead a revolt in order to change that policy (see my tag line below) ;) . No luck. The "party line" at WDW is that "our guests prefer wine over beer". In point of fact, it has nothing to do with guest preference and everything to do with distribution agreements with the suppliers of WDW beer at resorts. For some reason these agreements purportedly prohibit the resorts from including beer in their evening service BUT permit the wine--guess the wine distributor didn't get as airtight an agreement. ;) At least, that's what we were told by a CM whom shall remain nameless. . .

Sadly, beer drinkers have the reputation (whether deserved or not) of being able to consume many more per person drinks than those who sip the grape or after dinner drinks. That might give WDW pause as well. . .

If your husband isn't a wine drinker (and mine doesn't care for it either), he can always stop at the local Publix and pick up his supplies. He can consume them in the lounge, around the pool, on the patio/balcony, or in the room. He can cart a little cooler containing them all over the resort grounds and no one will mind. They just won't give it away. Does he enjoy Bailey's, Kahlua, Coinvoissier (sp?), or other liqueur? These are available with desserts later in the evening at the concierge level, too.

Good luck in your efforts to sway your husband's decision. Although, just be prepared, you may not be able to turn back the clock once you've done concierge. . .

AKL also had out Brandy and after dinner drinks with the desserts.
