YES! I LOVE concierge. I really do. It makes such a difference to me for several reasons.
1. Help with planning my trip.
2. A nice place to gather, relax, enjoy a snack and get information.
3. Extra ammenities in the rooms or a great location in the hotel.
I have stayed at the AKL, Poly, and will be staying at the GF in two days. At the AKL there is the sunrise safari which was awesome. At the Poly there is the monorail, great snacks, 24 hour soda and water, and the GF ...I'll let you know!
The only time I don't think concierge is not appropriate is if you are planning on spending every waking minute in the parks. On those commando style trips it is really impossible to utilize the lounge (most close by 10 p.m.) for more than a quick breakfast and you are not really able time wise to enjoy the hotel. When we do those trips (with out of town relatives who want to see and do it all) we just book a regular room. Then you feel free to enjoy the 100's of restaurants on property and don't feel compelled to go back to the very expensive room to enjoy it! And you can rely on the disboard members to help you with all your planning!
That said, concierge is the
best buy when you are going to take time to relax and enjoy the resort a bit. There is NOTHING nicer than being pampered a little bit and feeling spoiled for a few days. I have met some really great people in the various lounges, etc. And my kids really love it because they enjoy the treats.
