We are staying in a concierge room with 2 queen beds and one daybed. I would LOVE it if anyone has any photos or info on the concierge rooms at the DLH or the concierge experience as a whole. This is our first time using this service and I would love to know all the perks :) also does anyone know how long it takes to walk from the Sierra Tower to the downtown disney monorail station??

TIA

I haven't stayed in concierge, but I've stayed near it. The best thing about staying near it is that you can open the windows in your room, and you can see the fireworks in the park and hear the music that's being piped in to the concierge lounge.

The daybed in regular rooms is about the size of a loveseat. Not great for an adult male--though I'm told an adult male could sleep on it--but perfect for a girl. And wonderful if you're one of the families blessed with one child of each sex.

As for the walk to the monorail, it's mere moments. A leisurely stroll might take five minutes.

I did concierge at the Paradise Pier one year.
It was very worth it for that particular trip.
We would run into the concierge room in PJ's, grab breakfast items and snackies for the day, then scoot back to the room and get ready.

You can load up on bottled water, cookies, fruit, etc. and either take it with you to the park, or leave it in your room for later munchy attacks. They have the most mouthwatering tortilla chips and salsa on the planet. The cookies are the size of your hand!

At night, you can enjoy a glass of wine, fabulous cheese & crackers, and watch the caroler's sing (ummm... as the regulars on this forum have already figured out, I am a December only Disney'er).

We kept getting doused on any water ride that trip and made frequent wardrobe changes due to our drenched clothes (and it was a cold year that time), so we would slip into concierge, grab goodies, and munch away before heading out again.

It saved us a fortune in food that trip.

The monorail...
Disneyland Hotel is the closest hotel to the monorail station (which is why I think staying there is worth every doggone penny).
I have timed a leisurely stroll from the Bonita tower to the monorail station and it took us 8 minutes.
If you have bionic feet and walk like Hydroguy, you could probably make it in 3. :lmao:

What caroler's singing? WE have PP ressies, concerige that Dec 11-16 and I am still trying to decide if it is worth the splurge.........

When we were there, they had a group of caroler's (5 people in the group) who would wander the hotel and sing (took requests also) on a daily basis. During the nightly "wine and cheese" session of the concierge time, they focused on the balcony by the lounge, so all the concierge guests could watch them, hear them, and ask for their requested songs. It was fun. :santa:

Splurge... spoil yourselves... how often do we pamper ourselves?
Besides, the rice crispy Mickey ears dipped in chocolate (that you get upon arrival) are wonderful. Coming back to your room for the night and finding your bed turned down with chocolate coins all over your pillows will bring a smile to your face, and the concierge food is pretty darned tasty. ::MickeyMo
Other nice perks of concierge: the ability to check in quickly with their services (while you chow down on the goods and sit in the cushy chairs while they process the paperwork); and planning services at your fingertips (right in the concierge lounge... wow... a real person). :wizard:

If you are flying into the resort... between concierge and a food delivery from Albertson's to your hotel, you have the option of saving tons of money on food alone. Us flyers cannot haul all our food/water goodies with us, so this is one alternative to save on food & drinks. The concierge lounge is especially a good deal for all the "grazers" out there. :rolleyes1

Oh, I thought concierge was in the Sierra Tower, sorry. The lounge is in Sierra Tower. :confused3

Thanks for your answers. Also if anyone has photos or opinions of the concierge rooms themselves I would love to see them and show them to my dd so she can get "prepared"

Thanks

The other night someone cut and paste this thread into another concierge question, and I was reading it thinking "wow that sounds like MY trip" LOL and it was (the poster gave me credit)...

This will tell you how it was for me.

laughingplace.com has lots of pictures of the lounge. Or it did when I did my research in '05.
