Is the Concierge level at PPH the same as at the Grand, with a club and happy hour? Trying to decide if the extra money is worth it.

Other than location, what do you get for the additional $$$?

Thanks!

The offerings would be on par with the Grand. To make it worth it, you'd have to make sure you are there to use it. Plan a light breakfast out of it, and be back in the evening for happy hour. Calculate the cost of that time and what value you get out of that.

I disagree. The offerings are much less at PPH. The breakfasts are very similar, but PPH only offers snacks during mid-day(chips, goldfish, cookies, etc.) but GCH concierge has the afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones, chocolate covered strawberries, etc. Evening offerings are about the same, but after that the GCH has cookies, assorted desserts and cordials and they have the storyteller come in to do bedtime stories/songs for the younger guests. PPH brings out the chocolate covered strawberries at the end of the evening offerings.

That said, we enjoyed both lounges, but I wouldn't want you to check into the PPH lounge expecting the exact things that you got at GCH.

Depends on alot of stuff. Such as:

- How much "extra money" is concierge (over standard room)?
- Will you use the breakfast? (If MM is at 8am, i would.....if it's at 7am, i wouldn't).
- What are the dates of your visit?....& will you be up for MM each day offered?
- Will you return for a mid day break?
- Prior to returning to the parks, will you stop in at 4:45pm for a snack & beverage? (& do you drink?)
- Will snagging unlimited bottled waters benefit you?

Assuming one uses it each day for breakfast & a snack (with beer/wine) in the afternoon, then I'd put a $7-$10 per kid & $15-$18 per adult value (per day) on it.

There's been a couple of other threads recently on the PPH Concierge that offer additional opinions. Might want to read those as well.

There is a recent "not worth it" experience, but I can't find it this second. Title is something like "PPH Cocierge: Is it worth it?"
ETA: Here it is! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2771562

Interesting to hear the GCH/PPH differences. A bit disappointing to hear that concierge is not concierge is not concierge (more about the food than the storyteller stuff), but I suppose it helps ~justify GCH's prices compared to PPH's.

What kind of beer and wine do they have in the concierge lounge?

We are wine drinkers, so I can't comment on the beer. They don't carry around bottles of wine to fill glasses, they always come from the back room area with the full glasses. It isn't great wine, so prepare yourself for cheap bottled house wine.

I do remember beer being brought out in bottles, so I would guess that they were just the common domestic beers.
