Does it tend to be crowded, or pretty open? I'm considering taking the plunge to concierge for the first time, and the hot tub reserved for concierge guests is one of the draws. But not if it's typically crowded or loud. Is it a quiet area? What have people's experiences been with this?

It was not crowded on the Dream in September (Halloween on the High Seas) except one afternoon there were several teens in there. I loved going to the Rainforest. You may look into that pre sail packages are usually a good deal.

Thanks but the Rainforest is usually crowded, in my experience. The only time I've found it uncrowded is the morning of Castaway Cay day, but that's not my (or almost anyone else's, obviously) preferred time to go.

The Rainforest also requires you to check in, check out, use the locker room, etc. I want greater ease of access, which is part of the concierge sun deck's appeal- it's only a short walk from the concierge staterooms and you can enter and leave as you please.

I never saw more than 2 people in it when I passed through. In fact, I very rarely saw more than a handful of people in the lounge, on the deck, or in the hot tub. We did a 3 night on the Dream in March of 2020 (just squeaked it in before the shut down).

After 8 Concierge cruises, I can say that it truly depends on your fellow guests. On most cruises, like PP, we rarely saw guests on the reserved deck or in the hot tub. Especially on Dream/Fantasy, the lounge is not often much more than a place where people stop to grab a drink, some food or to talk to the hosts, the happy hour being an exception. We found that the lounge is used around the clock on the small ships.

However, on two of our cruises, we noticed groups of Concierge guests that were using all the facilities to the maximum. They ate in the lounge in the morning, hanged on the deck, brought food there for lunch and used the hot tub at all hours of the day. Those folks liked to talk ... a lot.

I have been to the concierge sun deck as I posted. We were in room 12000 and our deck was plenty big enough to sit out on and the one time we were going to go to hot tub, it had teens in it. We enjoyed the loungers and the hot tub in the spa because it was so empty.

enjoy

The concierge hot tub has been our hideout once we board. Very seldom have we encountered more than 2 to 4 people there but normally we are the only ones before the ship leaves port.

I wish I had been on that cruise instead of the one where people had to wait in line for loungers in the Rainforest Room.

I think we've been very lucky here too... we generally have been able to nab loungers and a hot tub without issue. We tend to go in the afternoon or evening though.

We’ve sailed concierge twice on the dream....the only time I saw more than a handful of people on the deck was when they had the character meet and greet up there. It was empty or near empty most of the time I went up there.

The lack of the "view" is what kept us out of the lounge/deck area. We found it very convenient to pop into the lounge, pick up some treats, and then chill on our balcony. My splurge was also the pass for the RainForest room and I found that to be light on crowds.....although I was usually in there in the early morning or late evening. At most I saw 10 people in there. Our first night of the cruise, my husband and I had the hot tubs to ourselves!

How did you like room 12000? We are booked for a Jan 2022 cruise on the Fantasy in that room. We were on the dream in 12008 and liked that room/location very much.

We loved it. The room is the same as other 1brs, but that BALCONY !! full size reclining loungers were perfect for lounging before dinner. I think I want to try to get a bump out on the starboard or port sides because I like watching the water.

Most sailings I have been on it has not super crowded. Often only one or two other people up on the sun deck. However often families sailing concierge use that hot tub with their children (as they should if they pay for concierge sailing!). Just keep it in mind that its not necessarily and adults area only area and can sometimes be loud with families that sail concierge - though that is not a majority of the time!

We've done one concierge cruise on the Dream (had a second booked but it was cancelled) so I don't speak from vast experience, but on that cruise the hot tub and sundeck weren't crowded at all. Never saw more than two or three people using the hot tub at a time and there were always more than enough loungers to go around, even the big cushy round ones. It was pretty quiet most of the time, except when Satellite Falls was busy. Even then I wouldn't say it was really noisy... you were just kind of aware that there were more people outside the enclosure than usual. It was a great retreat when we wanted some privacy, in particular on our sea day when the pool areas were pretty crazy.

We liked the bump in 12008 on the Dream and enjoyed the loungers on that extended balcony. I would do 12008 again or even the identical room on the starboard side. I had been hoping to see some dolphins playing alongside the boat, but I didn't happen to see any.

Here is an aft view from the balcony. You can see that you don't really have a direct view of the water below due to the bump out on deck 11.

We have sailed in concierge on Dream/Fantasy maybe 10 or 11 times. The hot tub is hit or miss. We like to go in the early evening and it's often very peaceful. The sundeck itself is not that utilized due to, as mentioned, no view. It also get blazingly hot during the day and you don't want to get in a hot tub when it's hot out.

My biggest complaint is that some families use the hot tub as a kiddie pool. And that is just not good. We had one sailing where 4 kids younger than 10 would be swimming and splashing in the hot tub when other adults were trying to use it. EVERY AFTERNOON

Thanks that is excellent information to have, as that's exactly the kind of thing I want to avoid. That takes the Concierge hot tub off my "plus list" in my internal debate over cruising concierge.

I still like the idea of relaxing on the sundeck as it looks very comfortable and I don't care about the view when I'm lounging. The cruise would be in December and it never really gets hot then, so I'm not worried about that.

I just moved from 11008 to 12008 yesterday. I really like deck 11 (have been in 11008 before) but have always wanted to try a deck 12 bump out. Do you have pictures of the veranda? Would love to see them.

I checked through my pics and while I have plenty of pics off of the balcony, I don't have any OF the balcony. I do know that there were 2 regular chairs and then 2 lounge chairs behind the regular chairs.

I will ask my husband if he took any of the balcony.
