There's no reason to do an on board booking for concierge, correct?
Seems like no financial benefit.

Please remind me the refund policy. I know there are no refunds for cancellation, but I read that you can change to a non-concierge room and get the whole deposit transferred. What is the timeline for that? Can it be for a later cruise date?

You get a little DCL OBC that's it. You do not get the % off the cruise.
You can transfer to any new cruise, as long as you are outside the paid in full date.

And, if you are using an agency that gives big OBC, you will lose some amount of that (for instance Dreams Unlimited reduced it by half) by doing an OBB. I think Costco is the only one that does not reduce the credit if it is an OBB.

I believe you can still get OBC ($200 or $100) if you use an OBB for a concierge reservation. No fare discount and no reduced deposit.

Concierge reservations can be modified to a new cruise date, concierge-level or non-concierge level. If you switch it to a non-concierge stateroom, the deposit value still remains non-refundable. I don't believe there is any time limit to push out deposit to a different cruise unless you are using an OBB, in which case it's 24 months.

Enjoy your cruise!

If you use an OBB for concierge and later decide to downgrade to non-concierge, you would at that time get the 10% off. If you think there is a chance you will do this, it might be worth it to do an OBB for concierge. Also, like PP said, you will still get the on board credit (either $100 or $200) but you need to compare this with what on board credit your TA (if you are using one) will give you for an OBB vs. non-OBB. Also, we have used an OBB for concierge and still got the 10% deposit.

I have had the 10% concierge booking on board before, and also had the DCL OBC and a TA OBC on allocation of my booking to my TA.

Curious, as to you got the 10% off the cruise price? I thought they didn't give that to Concierge? Or do you mean 10% deposit (not the normal 20%)?
Edited to add we did a place holder and were told a Cat T didn't qualify for 10% Discount or the 10% deposit. Had to do 20% deposit and no discount. Only what TA gives in OBC (and DCL OBC)

This just happened to us. We switched an onboard booking to a category T for the EBPC. We lost the 10% discount but we're able to keep the $200 on-board credit.
