Concierge at Grand Californian in DL?

Hi! I posted over at the DL boards, but it's quiet over there.... has anyone ever stayed concierge at GC? We have a reservation for biginning of Oct- and have to decide in the next few days.....

We have stayed with concierge on a few occassions. It's nice if the extra cost isn't a strain on the budget, otherwise it's not worht it (IMO). The only times that we stayed concierge were when we either got it at a great rate or had a comped night for it (had a bad experience that Disney comped really well!). In the mornings that have a continental breakfast, during the ay they have cookies, chips, breads, and fruit available with sodas, milk, and ater to drink. In the evnings they still ahve the same goodies out plus wine for an hour or so, a nice touch. They can also make reservations for dining.

Did it a couple of weeks ago. (rm #6011) IMO, it's not really worth it as we didn't see much difference in service or room size, etc. We didn't use the lounge...didn't really have time since there was much to see and do around the parks. Our view was *awesome* but the view alone isn't worth the extra bucks. Next time, we are thinking of reserving a room with a downtown disney view. That looks like it would be fun and right in the middle of all "the action."

Either way, you'll have a great time at the GC! It's a beautiful hotel and the service is just amazing...not just for conc but for everyone!

We've stayed at the GC 4 times, 2 in concierge, which was fabulous, and 2 in regular rooms, which was great, too. For us, it depends on the price difference. We like having the breakfast and evening snacks, but dont really need much else. Only you can decide what concierge services you plan to use and if they justify the price difference. Last trip a few weeks ago, they wanted $150 more than a standard room -- we decided we could buy a lot of snacks and water for that much money and passed on it. Good luck with your decision -- the hotel is great!
