They were late coming out, I think. The ostrich has been with me all morning. Giraffe and zebras came recently. I am taking it easy for a bit today. Brought my walker, so walked around AK yesterday, and it was definitely more strenuous than an ECV.

We will head to Epcot shortly.

Glad you're having a good time. As far as using a walker vs an ECV, I can imagine how much more tiring it must be! However, maybe your DH appreciates that. My DH sometimes complains at the end of the day, because I'm ready to keep going on my ECV, but he's tired! And as I remember from talking with the Animal Keeper, the animals generally start going in around 8:00, and start coming back out around 10:00, earlier if they're quick and anxious to get back out. The animal keepers are very aware of the animals' wants-they don't get all upset if some animals just don't want to come in some days. But what I enjoy is, if you sit on your balcony around 8:00-9:00, you can hear the "cues", the calls for them to come in. The "cues" aren't too loud, and the animals don't lift their heads and run. They just sort of amble slowly towards the barn, easily distracted along the way. It's fun to watch!

We found that you really have to love animals to stay at AKV. Sometimes you you see many, other times just a few.

Hours later, I first came out around 9, and that ostrich is still walking around!

I finished my book, F&G here we come!

That Ostrich was basically the only one that came around during our stay there for a week a couple of weeks ago. He was there a lot! One evening we could see one of the Kudu or something that was laying down close to the place the put hay on the ground.

Are you in Jambo or Kidani?
We were in Kidani this past week and found 2-3:00 the animals would come our way-the giraffes would stay for a while but the cattle, antelopes, and the Adyx(sp?) would stay.
Hasn’t the weather been wonderful? Enjoy the rest of your stay!

We had Concierge studio in Jambo, and the stay was wonderful! I personally have always enjoyed Sunset Savannah. The weather has been gorgeous, and has continued in Hilton Head, where we are right now. We will be back for more Flower and Garden enjoyment, and to hear Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits.

That’s great Bobbi! We were there over this past weekend and saw nothing:(

I’ve never stayed there and Not seen animals. We usually saw them in the morning, then late at night, at the open viewing balcony at Jambo, the one with the rocking chairs outside... we d see them again.
We did see less at kidani.. but still saw them. We prefer Jambo, no question.

Enjoy everyone.. such a sight to behold.. and sipping coffee in the am ( or eating s bowl of oatmeal) while watching animals... Awesome!!

Last fall we had a 1 bedroom in Kidani and it seemed there was always animals.

Much depends on luck, location, and expectations. On the pembe savanna we saw birds and wort hogs, that's it and they were few. CL we saw birds and some type of water buffalo. You can see more from the observation areas where they attract the animals for viewing.

We’re back home now. Except for the ostrich, which seemed to enjoy walking around, the animals we did see were mostly eating from the piles of food CMs leave around.

This was a very busy trip for us, and we were not in the room that much.

Not every day, but two out of three mornings, I enjoyed smoked salmon at breakfast!

I am glad the rooms are on the same level as the food offerings. Very convenient.

Bobbi:)
