Hawaii cruises for the next few months seem to be in flux. The HAL Koningsdam seems to recently have changed itineraties and dropped Maui among other changes. Also if you look at "https://hawaii.portcall.com/" which lists the Hawaii ports' schedules, the Disney Wonder does not show up anywhere in April or May 2022 as far as I see. Please post any news you learn on this thread. Princess has Hawaii cruises this month with the Grand Princess leaving on 1/4, so that will be interesting to watch. Thanks!

I don't think they know what the Wonder's complete itinerary will be yet. Especially, since they normally go out of Vancouver.

Ya is Canada even allowing cruises yet?

I was looking at Alaska cruises and some were sailing out of Vancouver and had be really nervous thinking about booking one of those.

The ban was lifted in November per this article https://globalnews.ca/news/8344969/canada-lifts-international-cruise-ban/

There are a lot of uncertainties for both Canada and Hawaii right now. We're on the HI-Vancouver cruise. Current travel restrictions, were they to apply in May, would require a test before arriving in Hawaii, and one 72 hours before arriving in Canada. I spoke to DCL about the CA entry requirement. They were not able to provide any details of how they would meet that. But, so much can change before then that it's not worth stressing over right now. For me, anyway.

Too early to talk specifics. But, for PCR testing, most cruise lines arrange for onboard tests if a port of call or a destination country requires them. We finished a 7-nighter about a week ago and had to be tested three times for that trip.

But there is still activity in the US legislature to eliminate the Canada stop permanently so the uncertainty is still in question.

I’m booked on the Vancouver to Hawai’i sailing but haven’t booked any travel yet due to the uncertainty. There’s also an official Hawai’i app you have to download and, if I’m remembering collecting, everyone individually has to fill out 24 hours before their first port of call on the islands. Should be fun with DCL’s wi-fi 😅

I really wouldn't say that there's activity. None of the three pending bills that would allow for modification of the PVSA have even cleared committee yet. They've stalled. There's no impetus behind them at the moment. IMO I don't think these will ever get out of committee. If Canada closes their ports again (pure speculation - I think that's unlikely) you'd probably get something along the lines of what was passed last time. A temporary lifting of fines and penalties.

The Grand Princess set sail today at 16:00. First stop will be Hilo, HI on 08 Jan. 22. Seems like Hawaii is allowing cruises to dock in ports.

I think their schedule was changed. Hilo now on 1/11/22 and Oahu on 1/9/22. It seems Hawaii is now requiring ships to stop in Oahu first before other islands.

Not DCL related, but NCL's Pride of America was supposed to start sailing again 1/22. They just changed that to 3/5. :( I'm booked on it in July (3rd year of trying) and I'm losing hope they will be sailing then.

Yeah, it’s especially interesting as NCL was one of the two lines (the other being Carnival) who the press was reporting had come to an agreement with Hawai’i to port there.

Fingers crossed for you for July!

They have a long list of ships delaying their restart. Some into May!

They also stopped a WBPC transit before it entered the canal and cancelled another ship 24 hours before departure. Rumors seem to indicate that crew cases are the driving factor right now.

We are also booked to sail the pride of America on the July 16th sailing after moving it from 2021. I didn’t realize they haven’t even been sailing. I just booked stays at aulani on either end of the cruise for a few days of relaxing. Maybe we should just plan on aulani.

No, they haven't sailed yet. They were supposed to start on 1/22, but that has been pushed out now to at least 3/5. Sorry if I caused any confusion.

I am stalking the princess groups and feel much better about the process HI requires. I am just nervous on Canada and how this changes things for HI. Technically one passes US immigration I believe when you embark. So that might count as entering the US. I just hope Canada doesnt complicate things.

From what I have gathered right now ( and this will be confirmed in the next few days) is that HI only wants you to upload your vaxx card and you can get your QR entry code before sailings. No other requirements from HI sides. It seems the onboard testing is a "SCREENING" process not an "ENTRY" requirement for HI. Anotherwards more driven by CDC and the cruiseline itself. I believe HI port agreements only require that ships have medical faciliities and the ability to test as a screening for outbreaks.

So the current feedback is the passengers right now on the Princess Grand are not required to upload, use data, phones to submit their onboard test results. Passengers themselves are trying to confirm. and we wil know more when they dock in HI.

Thanks for the update!

Most Canadians over 12 are vaccinated. I don’t think cruises will be cancelled again but the border requirements are pretty strict and can’t see that changing meaning religious and other exemptions would most likely not be accepted.

So I just checked port of vancouver and no Wonder on the schedule. Actually no schedule at all for 2022. Since I am having a non-productive day at work I decided to email their community relations and inquire on when they are releasing their 2022 schedule.. and speficially on the Wonder. Let's see if they respond.

I wouldn't stress too much about the Wonder missing from port calendars at this point. When the Wonder restarted in October you couldn't find her on any port calendar.
