I love the tiki room and its one of the original shows at Disneyland and Disneyworld

A little birdie told us there are some rumors flying around about our beloved Tiki birds at Walt Disney World Resort. We’re sorry that our fans are being fed incorrect information by unscrupulous sources. While “toucan” play at that game, we deal in facts here at the Disney Parks Blog. Although we won’t address every rumor, we want to set the record straight: there are no plans for our feathered friends to fly the coop any time soon. We’re constantly evolving our stories, but these birds will continue entertaining our guests at the Magic Kingdom Park just as they have done since 1971.

I saw this. It looks like something they were noodling around but not necessarily anything that was ever actually being done. They do that all the time - I bet we'd be shocked what the Imagineers have in the in back pockets for whenever it is needed.

i was just thinking this may happen because of what they are doing at the Poly. and the Moana refurb

Anything's possible, but the article I saw said it dated back a bit, to when they were talking abotu changing CBJ to Woody's Round-Up. That didn't happen eitehr, but it doesn't mean there weren't some concept desgins done.

Yep. This is not concept art, just a proposal. Nothing to see here, just a certain fellow from a site that shall not be named continuing his beef with Disney Parks Blog, trying to get the last word in after they threw shade at him. One artist had this proposal in his online portfolio. Doesn’t mean anything concrete at all.

There’s no way this happens. Moana hasn’t even appeared for a regular meet and greet at WDW since she left the Hollywood Studios promo spot in 2017. She only appeared at MK parties after that because they have had a lot of trouble casting enough people to support a permanent full time meet and greet. No way they turn Tiki to a permanent Moana meet and greet.

Well, they could do something like how Stitch appears in the Tiki room in Tokyo. I wouldn’t mind a Moana overlay to the Tiki room. As long as it’s better done than Under New Management was.

Something like that would make more sense and be more believable. The rumor for the replacement was a full time Moana and Maui meet and greet, which I don’t think will happen considering they couldn’t even cast a full time meet and greet for her and had her only appear at parties after 2017. Not to mention we don’t really know what the future of meet and greets looks like. I could see them tweaking or changing the show, but I don’t see it being a full time meet and greet spot.

I still don't understand this since DLP had a m&g with her at the studios. It was one that had shorter sets and we did line up during early magic hours for resort guests to be able to meet her. But we'd done what we'd wanted and when we were there crushes coaster was down so even less to do during that early time anyway. But the line would always get cut off. Not sure how long it stayed, this was back May 2018. And I get it's FL and not CA but they never had a ft one there where it would have been easier. It just seems like there had to be more to it than that. They had no problem having a ft princess Elena in princess hall. Not sure on the height, but if cast right the same women could potentially play both given a change in makeup.

I do as well and never understood it then either. Unless they didn't want her in princess hall and didn't have another place they wanted to use. At DLP it was in a random spot in the animation building out in the open with a backdrop.

Kinda agree, to be honest. My kids hate it. Disney would be smart to change it.

This is one of wdw's least popular attractions, and it would get a lot more guests interested if Moana played a part.

This was for a meet and greet, not an overlay of the attraction like a certain unscrupulous source would have you believe. All this proves is that live entertainment may have wanted to put a meet and greet in that location - likely temporarily, to take advantage of Moana popularity. As it would turn out, they did put a meet and greet in that area for MNSSHP, just a bit dumbed down from this concept.

This does not prove the original rumor true - far from it. What this does prove is that the previously mentioned unscrupulous source will stop at nothing for profit, even if it means ruining the career of an artist (who has since taken the art down from his own website).

This isn't the victory lap that it was presented to be, it's just a sad attempt to punch back by a sad man

Some kinda Moana dark ride in Adventureland would be really cool (if there’s room for that kinda thing in that section of the park)
