What does the concierge at AKV consist of? Do you get a savannah view room or can you request it along with the concierge? Is it worth it? Any help with these questions is greatly appreciated, thanks!!!
One of my September cruise buddies has a cash reservation at AKL and she said that the service she receives is absolutely incredible. She said that, among other things, if you send them a picture of a particular souvenier you want, the conceirge team will try and locate it for you throughout Disney Wordl and have it waiting in your room when you checkin. My friend also said that she's getting lots of assistance in making her ADRs and other reservations. I would say if you can swing the points, you should do it at least once...I know we're planning on it. Good luck!!
I stayed in one last summer. There are only 5 lockoff rooms for DVC. 3 are savannah view, 2 are pool view. The main reason we booked it was to get the sunrise safari, which was awesome. You get daily housekeeping and turn down. The lounge can get crowded. It's worth it to try some time, it isn't alot more points. We were lucky to get it at the 7 month mark for the last week of June (1 bedroom). We requested savannah view, got pool view. We called the next morning to see if we could switch and they did move us to the handicapped savannah view. It was actually better because the regular shower is a combo jacuzzi/shower and was hard to get into. The handicapped had a walk-in shower.
I don't know if I would say "meals". For breakfast, I think it was just bagels, juice, pastries, cereal, fruit. No hot food like eggs. They had some snacks in the afternoon, cookies. In the evening, they had appetizers from the restaurants. The problem was they would only put a plate out at a time and people were like vulchers. You had to be standing right there when they came out or wait for the next one. Later they have desserts and wines.

When I spoke with MS she mentioned a continental breakfast and basically food throughout the day/evening. I wouldn't say enough to replace a meal plan but certainly enough to subsidize if you wanted to maybe skip DDP and just supplement out of pocket on your own.
