Computer help, why is everything so BIG???

I get on my computer this morning and all of a sudden everything is gigantic. I check the display stuff and it says things are normal.
Nuh, uh!

It's driving me nuts, any advice or suggestions.

Go up to the menu bar at the top of your browser and select View, then Text Size and set it to Medium. You can try the other sizes to see if you like any of them any better.

If you have a mouse with a wheel, you can hold down the Ctrl key while turning the wheel and that will change the text size, larger or smaller according to the direction you turn the wheel.

Thanks Bob, Okay I did that, and I checked all the sizes smaller too. That changed the size of the text, but everything is bigger than usual. I even restarted the computer to see if that would make any difference and it didn't. ????????????

Ok. Go to your desktop and right click somewhere on the desktop but not on a program icon. Select Properties then click on the Settings tab. There should be an area called Screen Area or something like that with a horizontal slide bar and different screen sizes below it. The larger the number for screen size, the smaller everything will be. For example, if you select 1024 x 768 thing will be smaller than with 800 x 600.

Okay, I'm back.

I was trying out different resolution sizes and went to far for my computer. It didn't like it at all and I couldn't see anything but a little bitty tiny line.

I finally was able to get ahold of my dd's ex-boyfriend who talked me through the safe mode. Somehow when all was said and done, my computer was back to what it's supposed to be. The funny thing is, all the settings are the same as they were this morning.
