Computer cases and airline travel -- what kind cases do you use?

I wanted some input from you frequent airline travelers with laptops. We take our laptop on all of our trips. We have a special case (called a Lap Trap) we carry it in, plus we stuff this into a rolling backpack just to make it easier for me to transport (and it reduces everything to the "one" carry-on item). Our "system" works for us, but tends to be bulky and hard to "stuff" under some seats. Also, with the Lap Trap (it's a compact, self-contained, briefcase type case), if they do make me "stow" the rolling backpack, I can pull the lap top out and still keep it with me. I'm always looking for something better/easier.



What's your experience with rolling computer cases that are listed as "carry-ons?" These look like they would only fit in the overhead bins, but I want one that will go under the seat.

What other alternatives do you all use?

I actually found a nice "briefcase" at TJMaxx that I use to carry my lap top to/from work and I bring this on planes too. (It has an interior pocket built for the laptop.)

Not only does it have hand straps to carry, but also a removeable shoulder strap AND hidden "back pack" straps that tuck away when not in use. It's about the size of one of those large LLBean backpacks. (Made by Nine West.)

I can fit maybe a few magazines, bottle of water, snacks, game boy, and a book or 2 into this case when traveling. And yes, this does fit under the seat in front of me.

I know my DH's laptop won't fit in my bag...he has a new IBM and it's HUGE...so make sure, whatever you buy, that your laptop fits into it.
