I am thinking about going to Tanque Verde in Nov. '05. Family of 5, so would need larger accoms.
Now, they don't even have points on the charts for THIS November, never mind '05... I know I will have to borrow from '06, but I don't know if I will need to bank any points from a third year (points from '04 to '05) because I have no idea at all of approximate number of points I will need to have in my account to make the reservation. So, what do I do?

All you can do is "guess" what the points might be. Figure they won't go down...I would allow for a 10-20% increase for planning purposes today (or wait and add 10% to the 2004 points). This should give you a rough estimate of what you'll need.

Hi,

we went in Oct last year and it was fantastic. We had a two room apartment which had a double bed in the bed room and two singles in the lounge area - you could probably get a third bed in the lounge if they would let you. It was 325 points for 5 nights, but I am not sure if that was for the room that slept 4 or if we paid extra for a child. We didn't spend much time in the room we were just too busy, and when we were there we were asleep - in bed by 8:30 every night! There was so much to do. I rode at least twice a day sometimes three times. There is an indoor and outdoor pool plus spa pools. They do nature walks and mountain bike riding. There is a huge lake for fishing and they provide the rods and bait free. My son caught great big cat fish with cheese! The food was lovely, one evening there was a camp fire event, most other evenings had a theme or demonstration - cowboy doing rope tricks etc one evening. Our son went to the kids club from 8 in the morning until 3 in the afternoon everyday. They like them to eat with the other kids for some reason which he was quite happy to do, in fact he did say we didn't have to bother picking him up at 3, but we pointed out they closed and he had to leave! He fished with his dad most days then so it worked out great. He then went back to the club for an hour after dinner.
We cannot wait to go back. I did write a full trip report every day whilst I was there but never got round to posting. If you have any questions let me know.
If you can do it then go for it, it was one of the best holidays we have ever had as a family, it was so relaxed and plenty to do - I cant just sit even on holiday.
