My girlfriend has two 5 for 3 day park hopper child tickets that she only used twice last week (they had to cut their vacation short when their family came down with a stomach virus). They're not going back so she asked me if I wanted them. My kids already have AP's, but they are due to expire tomorrow. I read that you can upgrade a park hopper to an AP. Since my boys AP's are set to expire tomorrow, and all the visits on the park hoppers haven't been used, would I be able to pay any difference and upgrade them to AP's? I know that I didn't originally purchase the tickets, but she's offering them to me and not all the days were used. It would be nice to upgrade them to AP's since money is a little tight right now and we weren't planning on renewing their passes.

If they aren't expired then yes they can be upgraded.

FTR it's not something I would do because I didn't pay for them originally and it's not supposed to be done but yes, PH's can be upgraded to AP's.

You can use them. However, I would be prepared to answer a lot of questions. They are going to know something is up since your kids have ap's and were using hoppers at the same time. They will suspect that you are using someone elses non-transferable tickets. Probably worth a try though.

Well, I would wait until my kid's AP's expired, like after tomorrow, and then go in with the PHs, and then upgrade them. I know it is not very magical, and you have to live with your own conscience, but gosh, aren't the prices at DL highway robbery and if you can work the system a bit and get away with it, well so be it. Just my humble opinion.

Even if she waits they'll know the first day the hoppers were used, and they'll know that they have the children in the system as ap holders.

Were any of the dates black out? We've bought park hoppers for use on black out dates. You could also say that you received the tickets as a gift from someone who didn't realize you had AP's and you used them on black out dates and then kept them to upgrade.

I do that , buy a pass so I can go on a blocked out date, then renew my annual pass. Have only had it work out twice this way as we live out of state so have to plan accordingly. Once the cast member at the annual pass station asked --so I said used it for a blocked out day. (Sat are blocked days) The other time I had a gift cert from Safeway so I used that to pay 50 dollars towards a 3 day pass (included early entry which the deluxe annual pass does not).

Anyway I hope that helps.

Early entry might be a story that would work. If your friend used it for an EE (they can tell what time of day it was used) you could say your kids wanted to go to EE too, and since their ap's were about to expire you planned to just use the amount you paid toward the ap when you renewed.
