Completely new to Universal

I have been reading the threads and found a lot of useful information, just have a couple of questions:

1) We are staying at the RPH and bought the Harry Potter Package so we have early admission, when we arrive to IOA do we go to the main gate? Are there signs for hotel guests?

2) I saw that we will have to get our fingers scanned, should we arrive a little earlier to make sure this gets taken care of quickly?

3) Any tips about the RPH or Universal in general I should know?

We are planning on going Oct 18- Oct 22

When you go to the park they will direct you to the left for Suess Landing, just make sure you have your room key out since they check those several times along the way. Right now they seem to be letting guests in around 7:30 but that might change due to crowd levels. Just get there early

The finger scanning does not take long, everytime you enter the park they will scan your finger to make sure you are using the right ticket. Just use the same finger each time and it should only take a few seconds to get into the park.

There are some great threads on the hotel section that gives tips and tricks to RPH as well as other great information. Depending on the weather but if it is nice enough don't forget you can pool hop too so go check out PBH and HRH while you are there.

I think she meant they will direct you to the right for Seuss Landing (non-US hotel guests go to the left).
