I cannot believe that DCL has a relationship with this "hotel". I also can't believe it is able to carry the Hilton name. If I didn't already have a good past relationship with DCL, I would be totally turned off the cruise line.
I paid DCL over $500 for a night in this "hotel". We arrived right before 9pm and we were looking forward to a hot shower and getting some rest for our cruise in the morning. Check in was fine and I didn't think the directions to our room were correct so we asked again. We were told to exit the lobby out front where the cars were arriving, walk up the ramp and go through the door to the next building. They said it was an automatic door like that made it special somehow. Everything had a dingy old roadside motel feel to it, but I thought the room would be okay.
The room was disgusting. Looking back, I can only think that someone had norovirus in there and the cleaning crew decided to just bail on the job. Immediately after opening the door, I saw all the pillows on the floor. The beds looked made up. I looked it the bathroom and the tub was full of poop or vomit towels, trash was full of something gross, there were brown tracks across the floor.
I took pictures and went back to the front desk. They were sorry, of course, and put me in a room in the main building, which was supposed to be an upgrade. The thing is, they didn't seem surprised by it. It almost seemed like it's a normal part of their day. There was someone who looked like management there and he didn't acknowledge me or the situation at all. They gave me a $10 credit towards breakfast in the morning. I have no interest in eating anything from this place.
Upgraded room is similar to a Motel 6. I was so grossed out, I didn't even take a shower. Walls are not soundproof and I could hear everything from the next room. Hilton is gross for this, but I paid for the room through DCL and I'm disgusted that they would be associated with this hotel. I'll definitely send them pictures of both rooms.
