Completed!!-The Artist and the Shopper TR-2 weeks in paradise...pics and videos!

Hi PopArtGirl, I just foung your Pre trippie and TR today and am all caught up!

First, let me offer my condolences on the loss of your beloved cat. I hope that the wonderful memories you have will see you through this time. I have lost a few wonderful feline friends myself and can totally relate to your pain.

As for your TR, well, thank you for sharing your great story! You have some wonderful photos and it is nice to hear about a visit that was long and relaxing, without having to cram the parks into four or five days.. I look forward to the rest of the show.

Suz

Thank you for the wishes ;) It's nice to know that people know what I'm going through.

And welcome to my TR.

I'm so loving all of this Disney Relaxation time you guys are getting!! We NEVER get to do that!! Loving it so far! Keep it coming! :)

CONT...

I woke up late that day.

I guess it was all taking a toll on me. What you must know, is that normally when the school year ends, I'm dead to the world for one week. I normally get sick that first week off, and/or spend the week sleeping. So since we left a few days after I was done work, I was starting to feel weak.

So we hung around the hotel, and went to Downtown Disney in the evening.

We just wanted to get a few things done. Buy a few items, and then come back.

Well just as we were starting to get prepared to get back to the hotel, we heard thunder.

I wanted to stop at the "Art of Disney" store to get a book before we got back to the hotel.

My mom was waiting for me outside.

As I was paying, I saw my mom was inside the store. I thought she had decided to come and look for something.

Well no. It was............. RAINING!!

So we waited a bit, and the rain was not letting go. So we decided to run to the bus stop.

There was a ton of people.

And we waited for the bus a bit.

So when the bus came, people mobbed it.

I told my mom to get in. If I couldn't get in, then we'd meet up at the hotel.

I managed to get on. Then we stopped at the Pleasure Island stop. And came in contact with a VERY rude young lady. The bus driver told people at Pleasure Island that since she was at full capacity, she could not let anyone in.

While she was helping people with weelchairs out, a girl came in through the front (I was in the first seat by the door) and said she didn't care. She had been waiting for a long time and WAS getting in. She pushed people in.

The bus driver did not see her at first I guess. But she made a few comments to me. We both agreed that she was not well behaved, and we moved on to much more pleasant things. She, the bus driver, noticed the Tinkerbell on my bag and we talked about her a bit.

If I remember correctly, by the time we got to the hotel, the rain at let go a bit. And we were able to stop by the store to get a few drinks, and safely make it to our room.

CONT....

I woke up before the wake-up call that morning.

My stomach was feeling queezy.

I even thought about cancelling my ressie for breakfast.

But I didn't want to.

So I finally got dressed and ready. When my mom woke up, her stomach was also feeling queezy. So after a bit of talking, we agreed that I'd go by myself.

Since I was ready, I decided to head out and go see the opening ceremony.

But as I was walking in, I noticed Wes Palm was out.

I then made my way to the rope drop.

I had a nice view until everyone in front of me started to put their kids on their shoulders. Here's what I could manage to shoot with my arm up in the air.

As soon as we starting walking forward, I thought I'd make a beeline to the "Kilimanjaro Safari". Let's say I was not the only one who had this idea. When I saw that the crowd was heading to the safari, I decided to take a right turn, and take in the scenery.

It was so quiet and desert in the areas I walked in, that I was wondering if I was allowed in hehehehe

I crossed one lady who commented on how peaceful it was. It truly was magical.

I then started to snap some pics.

As I got in front of "Expedition Everest", my mom called and said she'd be meeting me soon. She was feeling better, and would make breakfast afterall.

So I resumed my walk, and decided to be at the front gate around 10am.

My mom made it to the park safely, and we headed to Tusker House.

We were given a buzzer, and waited in the seating area in front of the restaurant. Which we thought was nice.

Our buzzer flashed, and we got our picture taken.

We were seated in the back. And were almost by ourselves. I guess we were one of the last ressies for breakfast.

I told my mom to go get food, and as soon as she left, Daisy came by. I asked her if she'd be coming back later so we could take a pic, and she said she'd try. She never did, and it didn't bother me.

I was hungry. And don't try and stand between me and food lol

The first character that came was Donald.

Then extra tall Goofy came. He told my mom to back-up a bit so she'd be able to get us from head to toe lol

Then the big Cheese himself came over.

We ate rather quickly. The selection was less to our liking then "Chef Mickey's". All in all, even though it was 10$ cheaper than "Chef Mickey's" we thought we would rather eat at Chef's than here.

Even though the decor was nice, and it was cute, we would probably skip it in future trips.

Animal Kingdom is so beautiful in the early morning!!! (And quiet and peaceful!) lol We ate at Tusker House when it was a CS meal but I have been since it's now a sit down restaurant. I LOVED the food there before...they actually had healthy choices and I was sad when it changed from a CS to a TS. We usually use the dining plan, too. It looks like fun! Sorry you didn't enjoy it as much as CM's. I might have to try that on a future trip! Great update!! Glad your mom got to feeling better and was able to join you!

I was glad to. Although I had to ask the waitress for my coffee a few times. They did not provide us with a pitcher as they did at CM's. So by the time I got my coffee... it was the end of the meal.

I love the pictures of AK that you got. I think my DH and I are going to take the long road to the safari. I just want to grab some fast passes for EE before we go stand in line at the safari.

Those are great pics of AK! In 1 month I am going to AK for the 1st time and I'm so excited! Your pics with the characters turned out great too!

Thanks! I love taking pictures. I'm dreaming of a 1000$ canon camera.

Definetely take time to explore the park in the morning. It's very enjoyable.

Thanks. Yes, my pictures with the characters did turn out ok. Although the girl in me is screaming:" Look at the weight you put on!" lol I'm not saying I'm fat! Just that I did pack on the pounds a bit, and I don't feel as great physically because of it :)

Great updates. Love your pictures. Sounds like a very relaxing time.

:grouphug: . I was sad to hear about your cat. I know how hard it is to make such a decision but it sounds like you made the right one. I have four cats myself and they are like my children so I understand how hard it was for you. :grouphug:

Thank you! It was very hard. But the vet did say it was the best decision. Let's say that since that day, there is not a night where I didn't dream of him or had nightmares :(

Hey guys.

I'll try to update soon.

We started the new school year today, and this week will be devoted to getting prepared to welcome the kids next week.

I got 1 secondary 4 (10th grade) class in arts, 1 special needs class in arts, and 5 classes in secondary 1 (7th grade) in ethics and religious culture (don't know how it's called in English), plus I'm supposed to get 1 more arts class. Yay!

I even got 1 day off. I'm not full-time. But I'm thinking it's my lucky day. Got a cool schedule and another school from another school board even called me today to see if I had a job. Had to turn them down... but I'm wondering... does that mean that my luck is turning around?

I hope you have a great set of students this school year. Yay for job security!!!

That's great to hear!!! Congratulations! :thumbsup2

Thanks!

I hope so too. I got 2 groups of special needs. Not 1. So we'll see. And the rest are mostly first year of high school. I haven't worked with first years for a bit. So hopefully they are as I remember them... not as much trouble as the older kids lol

Coming soon guys!!

They gave me 2 more classes (6 periods in all) so I'm planning.

Plus I'm already planning my July trip for 2009 lol
