This might be my favorite trip report that I've ever read! My best friends boyfriend just left for a weeklong trip to Disney, and since I've been seeing all the photos on Instagram, my Mom and I started mapping out our next trip. As a photographer it's my dream to stay at AKL, not to mention it's the FINAL Disney hotel that we have left to stay at before we cross them all off of our list. AKL is pretty expensive though, especially for the view. You're kind of inspiring me to just go for a value resort and have a great trip! It's been more than a year and I need my Disney fix. Great trip report, and I cannot WAIT to here more!!

Aww, thank you so much!! Ah, it kills me when my friends are in Disney. Obviously, I'm happy for them but it brings the Disney depression crashing back. Ahh! I'm so jealous of you resort achievement! That's amazing! Values are great, especially for short trips because you don't have to worry about appreciating the resort and can just have fun in the parks! Thanks for reading

Thursday September 17th, 2015 (Part 8)

Being Distraught Over Moving Sidewalks
*Hi everybody!! I just wanted to say thank you for making my thread so much more fun by filling it with comments! I was starting to get pretty discouraged thinking nobody was reading but thanks to you guys, I know that's not the case. You're the best!!*

Once we exited the Liberty Boat, we decided to see if we could get any fastpasses for the rest of the night, so we headed over to Frontierland. The lines were surprisingly short at the kiosk for it to be such a busy night. Hot Momma had never ridden Space Mountain and I needed to fix that! So that is what we made our fastpass for. Sadly, it didn’t start for about an hour, so we decided we should just continue with our old attractions theme and head on over to It’s A Small World. I know there are mixed opinions on this ride and I will admit that you will be singing the song for days... BUT, I feel like that’s just part of the fun, amirite?

I refrained from taking too many pictures because mine usually turn out like this:

But I will tell you that the operator in the box that your boat goes under at the beginning of the ride was waving feverishly to the people going under him and it was HILARIOUS. Mom and I decided he looked just like a grown up version of Short Round from Indiana Jones.
Hot Momma and I were also inspecting the boats because somebody in my Disney group had said they saw a kid and his mom somehow fall between the boats when they were getting off. We weren’t exactly sure how that was possible unless they fell off the front or back. Either way that’s pretty scary!

Then we headed on over to Tomorrowland and see what kind of trouble we could get in to. If you read my previous TR, you will know how much I love Tomorrowland and how my friends and I determined they pump things into the air over there because it always makes us act crazy! Even though we had just been sitting on IASW, our legs were still very angry with us (aka they hurt). So I decided to take Hot Momma on the best ride in Tomorrowland: THE PEOPLE MOVER. YES!!!

One of my favorite things in the entire world is moving sidewalks, and naturally that is one of the highlights of this ride for me. Well, imagine my dismay when the sidewalk that should be moving up is broken. No, not the downhill one, THE UPHILL ONE. What was this day?! Is the world trying to tell me I need a leg workout?!
Thankfully, we made it to the top without my legs crumpling under me in protest. As always, the People Mover wasn't busy which is why it’s so great! We got a car all to ourselves and threw our feet up into the chairs across from us. In my attempt to get a good photo of this bliss, I failed. SADNESS. I have the hardest time taking pictures at night, I need to play with my camera settings because everything I have from this ride was blurry, SORRY! We hopped off the People Mover just in time to board Space Mountain!

This ride really made me miss my teacake trip where we rode it 4 times in a row.. ahh, good times! Mother didn’t seem too excited to be riding this especially because I was unsure whether she would like it....

It would seem we didn’t even need our fastpasses because the wait was well under five minutes (YAY!) I LOOVE this ride, (in case you're wondering.. yes, I do say that about every ride) the best part about it is that it’s in the dark so no matter how many times you ride it, you still don’t know what’s coming. And good news, Hot Momma liked it! If the ride wasn’t already great, they just have to top it off with those amazing moving sidewalks at the end. Good job imagineers, good job. This is really strange, but has anybody else noticed that when you’re on the moving sidewalk there’s this table with a water bottle sitting on it and it looks like the same water bottle Tony Stark drinks out of in Iron Man 2? Oh, I’m the only one? ...Okay..

just now following along. this report is great! also, i laughed at this quote above because when i did the DCP i worked at Peter Pan and Small World so you essentially got paid to walk on a moving sidewalk. also, i used to loathe small world, but you definitely learn to love it and i am always noticing different parts of the display. can't wait to see more!

September 17th, 2015 (Part 9)

See What A Little Wishin' Can Do? ....Or Nah?
Even though Wishes was about an hour away at this point, I thought it would be a good idea to find a seat. We came down the little bridge near the rose garden and Merida’s meet and greet area and found a bench that looked pretty good.

This was going to be both Hot Momma's and my first time seeing Wishes so I wanted to make sure we got a good seat. I just wasn’t quite sure if this was a good place or not. Either way, I was getting pretty thirsty and thought I would leave mom to hold our spot while I went to get a smoothie from Auntie Gravitys!

The CM who rung me up handed me my change and then said “oops! your shoe is un-tied!” Even though I knew I had flip flops on, I still looked and he got me. What was it with CM’s playing tricks on me this trip?! Haha! I decided to go for a strawberry banana smoothie and BOY was it good! It tasted more like a sorbet shake than a smoothie but I really didn’t mind. I also grabbed mom a free ice water because Florida humidity = drinking lots of water.

I made my way back to Mom and decided that we could find MUCH better seats than what we had (BAD IDEA).

SO we rounded the corner out into the hub and THE WHOLE THING WAS OVERFLOWING WITH PEOPLE. No joke, there was literally no place for us to go, the CM’s had everything roped off and were ushering people toward Main Street so, the only place we could go was going to be standing outside the Tomorrowland bathrooms and right beside the ice cream parlor. Sigh… we should have stayed where were were. But I was determined to enjoy my first viewing of Wishes so I stood there and waited for magic to happen. I’m not sure if we saw Celebrate The Magic or not, something tells me we didn’t. Anyway, just as we got to our spot the show started. It was beautiful. I don’t care if the soundtrack was half washed out by toilets flushing, I LOVED IT.
Hot Momma said she wish she had gotten a picture of my face while watching it because I was so in love. I was actually surprised that I didn’t cry, but believe me, I felt the magic!!

And this was my view

After the show, the park was still open for another hour or so for EMH but we were SOO tired. But I knew if I didn’t ride Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad now, I wouldn’t get to. Hot Momma was the one who actually convinced me to just go back there and do it! I told ya, she's a good travel buddy! But, she did ask that we forgo the Splash. So unfortunately, I didn’t get to that one on this trip but that’s alright, I’m sure I’ll get to ride it again someday!

We did get to go BTMR with about a 20 minute wait.

If we weren’t so far back in the park I might have turned around and gone to the room. But I knew that the busses would be crazy full so we hopped in line.

Okay, so remember that family in AK having the time of their lives in the rain. WELL GUESS WHO WAS GETTING ON THE RIDE BEFORE US?! THEM! There they were 10+ hours later hooping and hollering and STILL having the time of their life. Golas. Just goals.
It was finally our turn to ride and I was so happy I got to take Hot Momma on THE WILDEST RIDE IN THE WILDERNESS!
Hot Momma also enjoyed this ride! I was sad to realize after I got of the ride that I forgot to look backwards while riding it. While probably not the safest way, it definitely is the most fun!​

It had been a full day of park touring but now it was time to bid goodnight to the MK.
Goodbye Main Street!

I'm obsessed with these wreaths. No shame.

We trudged our way to the bus stop and probably had to wait for one or more busses to come before we could get on one. I sat in the back with this family that had so many people, they basically took up the whole back half of the bus. They were super nice and one of the dads gave up his seat so that I could sit down. CHILIVERY IS NOT DEAD. BRAVO, SIR.

One of the other dad’s gave up his seat for this foreign family so that the mom could sit down with her daughter but instead both the parents just put the toddler on the seat and stood the whole way home. That, my friends, is true love. The bus ride seemed to go fairly quickly mostly do to the fact that I was listening to this family’s grand plans for the next few days.

We made it back to our room and crashed, happy that the next morning we scheduled to sleep in.​

Friday September 18th, 2015 (Part 1)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed their day and ate all of your favorite foods!

Exploring the Resort and Beach Boy Crusin'
We had set out alarms at the wonderful time of 11AM. It was almost as if we were on a *real* vacation. Haha, not really. I like to think it’s not really a vacation unless it involves the Big D!

Anyway, even though we had such a late wake up time, my body decided it wanted to wake up 9AM because it hates me. Oh well, I went ahead and showered and tried to get decent. This was the day we had MNSSHP planned so I didn’t want to get all dolled up and then have to redo it later for the party.

While I was waiting for Hot Momma to get ready, I headed down to the food court to get us something to drink and to take a few resort photos

So, we stayed in the baseball section. This pool was always very quiet.

To get to the main building, you have to walk across this squishy football field.

I finally made it to the main building. Resort rugs are my favorite

I got back to the room and Hot Momma got ready as well. And we left the room around 10:45. A bus arrived for us fairly quickly and we made our way to Downtown Disney or, I guess now it’s Disney Springs!

So for this particular day, I had opted not to buy a park ticket and instead visit DTD during the day and go back and get ready for the party and then go to MK for that night. I think this is something that works out quite nicely especially because (at least for MNSSHP) you can get into the park at 4:00PM with a party ticket and stay until 12:00AM for about $30 less per person. I also wanted to use this day to meet up with some friends I have who are currently working in WDW.

The DTD is also the bus for the water parks so I was very much enjoying all of the Beach Boys and surfing tunes they were playing! Our bus was VERY full and quite hot. We were sitting in the back and this dad just pulled his double stroller in the back and sat on the edge on one of the seats in front of us. This is totally fine but there was this 80-90 year old man who had to stand the whole bus ride because he couldn’t make it over this guys’s stroller. But the old man didn’t seem at all really, he was so cute though he saw me dancing to the Beach Boys and singing along and was very amused. He asked me if I liked the Beach Boys and was seemed surprised to know that I even knew who they were. Little did he know, I’m a Full House connoisseur and they happened to be featured on that show a few times.

The bus cleared out after we dropped people off at the water parks but I’ll have you know because of the construction that bus ride took 40 MINUTES. No, I’m not exaggerating. But I know once everything is finished it will be worth it. I’m really looking forward to seeing the final product of Disney Springs!

It was now 11:30 and we were going to meet up with one of my friends around lunch time so we made a bathroom stop and then headed in the direction of World of Disney. Who could this friend be you ask...?

I'll have to try that spot next trip! I've only seen Wishes once but I would love to get a Fastpass for it and sit in the hub grass
