Competitions at Disney World

Does anyone in the DIS family know when sports or cheerleading competitions are?? I would like to avoid the large groups of kids around the hotels and parks. Some seem to wander in big groups unattended sometimes. We are going at the end of May through the 1st week in June 2011.

Looks like a baseball tournament from May 27-30 and Soccer Shootout May 28-30. We were there for a baseball tournament, that's the only reason I had any idea where to look for the info! Shouldn't be bad imo. But it is
Memorial Day Weekend..which might be another issue.

There may be other stuff going on that others will post but that link should help some.

biggest competition in the world. from japan to canada to usa, everyone is there. and they get comp'd park passes if they buy the competitors package. i would NEVER go this weekend unless i wanted to go for cheer. all teams stay at the value resorts too!

Wow we arrive Easter Sunday and we end with cheer/dance competitions-pour l'amour de dieu!

We participate in the Soccer Shootout pretty much every year and there isn't a lot of impacts on the parks-maybe because it is Memorial Day weekend-a lot of teams just come in for the games and spend little time in the parks. If anything we go to the water parks

I was there Feb 9-14 and there was a Cheerleading/Band competition.
All you saw in the parks were groups of teenagers with matching t-shirts.
I saw in the paper our high school was there but didn't see them

Even with all the kids it wasn't that bad. Except for airport going home, it was full of kids. My plane had 3 schools on it.
