I get an MRI to r/o anything else then on to testing for Compartment Syndrome. The testing sounds painful. The treatment even more so!

I need to make it past Disney then I will deal with surgery if need be.

i'm so sorry to hear that....my prayers with you

 Sending good thoughts your way. I'm sorry you are having to deal with this.

I had my MRI this morning and go bck to the Dr. on 11/4 to see what, if anything, that showed.

I have been reading up on CS and found that I can have a less invasive test done via MRI (before and after running on a treadmill) so hopefully that will be an option for me.

Now if CS is confirmed as the dx I'm not sure what to do. I can honestly say that I will miss running but are the complications and recovery worth it? It is a lot to think about.

I will continue with training for the half and complete that race. I just have to listen to my body (legs/feet). I am going to bring a band to work and stretch out my calves daily.

I think I'm going to cut back to one short run during the week and keep the long run on the weekend. I think I need to keep more recovery time between runs and since the long run is the important one that is one I need to keep. On the other day I am supposed to run I will get out there and walk, maybe jog if I'm feeling ambitious.

Hopefully I will have more answers on Thursday.

My Son (17) had compartment syndrome in both calves and needed to have surgery twice for this. He also did alot of PT. If you are going to run you should wear Bioskins it helps with the compression while doing activities. He was a football player and waited until after the season to have the surgery both times. He did do alot of streatching with a trainer before practice and games.

I'm going to have to look up Bioskins. I wore compression sleeves once before I was (almost) sure it was compartment syndrome and thought my legs were going to fall off.

I have PT tonight then I plan on going for a run. I wonder if it will feel different/better?

I finally got scheduled for testing. I wanted to do it after the Half but I've met my deductible for the year so I'm getting it done a week from today. I'm nervous as heck! Hopefully, I will be ok to do my long run on the weekend after.
