Comparison between different Inventions meals (photo heavy!)

I'm glad you like it and I hope my write up is helpful for some.

I wouldn't say the buffet at dinner was bare. Well at least the refills were not the problem. The amount of food and the variety were simply smaller, and I think that's what shows on the photos. So overall yeah, it seems they are putting the effort in the events that bring in most money now.

I normally go at 6.30 PM too. But when I went last December I had a similar (although not as bad as this time) problem with characters only really starting to show at 7.30 PM. I thought by going a bit later I could avoid that this time.

The characters not varying is certainly an issue for me too. Cafe Mickey seems down to standard cast of Fab 5 and maybe Pooh and friends. And the hotel photo stops... I actually was quite excited at the White Rabbit. ;) He was besides Gideon pretty much the only out of the ordinary character I saw. I didn't even see Chip and Dale most days.

I've said it before elsewhere, but yeah, it seems most people are happy with seeing the Fab 5 or even Fab 4 only. I spotted Mulan in Ping outfit at the Small World gates one day. Which was an incredibly exciting thing for me, she's not out often. She actually had a line, and a small one. Just imagine, a line for a character in Paris! Someone walked by, pointed at her and loudly shouted "Look, Pocahontas!" I almost did a double take asking "where?" because I was and am still genuinely confused how you can mix up Mulan and Pocahontas. Then just when it was my turn someone walked up to Mulan and asked her for directions to the next bathroom! :headache: Poor Mulan seemed genuinely confused when I bowed and told her I was very humbled to be meeting the great and noble warrior Ping. Seemed she wasn't used to that.

Great reviews Vala :goodvibes It's my worst nightmare come true though being surrounded by characters so I won't be going :rotfl:

What I find very "funny" is the labelling or rather none labelling of food - One example that stood out is the "Entree du Jour" next to the Speck... Looking at it I know what it is but I wonder how many other people do :confused3

The tomatoes would have been filled with either pork sausage meat (traditionally) or as they try to appeal to a wide market minced beef both mixed with rice

Yes, the non labelling was very annoying.

I'll be honest, I couldn't quite make out what the thing next to the speck was either. Same thing for a lot of the main courses during dinner.

The tomatoes looked like they had some veggie filing with rice. The minced meat/pork sausage meat version I know from Germany, although here they more fill bell peppers than tomatoes.

My DD1 is desperate to see the photos you took so I must show her tonight. I told her all about it ;).

I did think the buffet looked bare in comparison to the Halloween brunch in particular. We'll we are eating later on our next trip, so I'll report back what it is like. It is a Saturday night so I'm hoping because of that, it might be busier and so more characters / refills etc - one can hope!

We have seen Ping before - our summer trip a few years ago - she was mobbed with people so didn't get to say 'hello', which was a shame as DD1 knew who she was - probably a lot of people didn't even know but scrummed anyway.

Re your recent pics, DD1 would also love to meet Frollo - Hunchback is one of her favourite Disney films (also her fave part of Dreams) - actually she would love to meet Hunchback but can't see that ever happening. He would probably recoil in fright though - a child who knows who he is ;). Was the same the first time we met Ratcliffe a long time ago - he was taken aback as she was only 4.5 yrs or something. Me thinks my DDs watch too many Disney films :lmao:. But actually, they prefer the more unusual ones as opposed to Cinderella / Snow White which they used to happily watch when much smaller.

Great reviews Vala, thank you for taking the time especially when you've been feeling poorly. Hope you're on the mend now. :goodvibes

Just got directed to this thread from another thread - and thanks Vala for the wonderful reviews and photos!!

Was deciding between breakfast/brunch/dinner at Inventions and after reading this I think I'm fairly sold on brunch...

Thanks for this, we are definitely going to check out the theme for Easter Sunday brunch now when it's time to book our meals :)

I'm realy looking forward to Sunday Brunch now for my March trip

*takes a bow*

Glad I could help.

Thanks for this, we are definitely going to check out the theme for Easter Sunday brunch now when it's time to book our meals :)

For Easter they normally do a special kind of brunch which of these three comes more close to the Halloween brunch than the actual Sunday brunches.

Are Suzy and Perla the mice there all the time at brunch? I hope so that way we wont have to eat at Auberge de Cendrillon to see them. I would rather eat at the bruch buffet.

No. The regulars at brunch are Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Chip and Dale. 80 percent of the time also Goofy.

The rest are guest stars which vary per the theme. The mice were only there for Brunch Royal with the Cinderella theme. We've yet to hear other reports from Brunch Royal, so no one can tell yet if Brunch Royal means Cinderellla by default. As they made a really big secret out of it when I called to find out who was there I imagine the actual cast for Brunch Royal varies too.

Boo hoo. I got excited when I thought that they might be there. I love Disney but I can't stand it when they are so secretive!! Your pictures are great by the way. Thank you for your help.
